Willie E. McCastler

Willie E. McCastler was a faithful and strong believer in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and he enjoyed attending church. He was born to Grace Peagler and Charlie McCastle, Sr. on August 7, 1932 in Greenville, Alabama and was the oldest child out of 9 siblings. After the untimely death of his parents, Willie left school at an early age to work to take care of his siblings. He eventually settled in Pensacola, Florida where he met his wife, Daisy Gunn-McCastler (deceased). To this union, six children were born. Although Willie did not finish school, he became an expert in the construction industry. God gave him a special gift. He could look at something and determine the measurement spot-on. He worked many years for Soul Construction Company in Pensacola. He eventually moved to Leesburg, Florida, where he started his own construction company, McCastler & Sons. A few years after moving to Orlando, with his then wife, Daisy, they celebrated the birth of Stagewood Construction Incorporation. Their work continues to be seen today throughout the community – Lake Eola, Downtown Orlando, College Park, OBT, and at El-Bethel Temple – his home church. Pouring the sidewalks and the foundation that EL-Bethel Temple sits on today is one of his proudest achievements! His favorite hobby was singing. He was a proud member of the Spiritual Wonders Quartet for over 45 years. He is preceded in death by his father Charlie McCastle, Sr.; his mother, Grace Peagler - McCastle; his brothers, Charlie McCastler, Jr. and James McCastle; his sister, Annie Ruth McCastle; his son, Vincent McCastler, and the love of his life, Daisy Mae McCastler. He proudly leaves to cherish and to honor his life, his loving and devoted family: his Children: Jacqueline McCastler, Anthony McCastler (Carolyn), Kenneth McCastler, Michael McCastler (Eva), Lorraine Hart (Ages), Stanley Usher, Patricia Millender, and Rhonda McCreary. His loving and devoted siblings: Brother, Michael McCastle (Chicago, IL), Sisters: Amanda Major (Chicago, IL), Grace Mayes (Chicago, IL) Annie Alcorn (Solon, OH), and Elizabeth Murphy (Glen Burnie, MD); Brother-in-law, Raymond Hale (Pensacola, FL; Sisters-in-Law: Gennie V. McCastler (Pensacola, FL), Alice McCastle (Chicago, IL), and Carol Gunn (Pensacola, FL); as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, and many friends.
