Vanessa Raven Barnes-Franklin

Mrs. Vanessa Raven Barnes-Franklin was born August 20, 1959 in Chattanooga, Tennessee, to the late Curtis Mills and Alma Barnes. Her early education includes James A. Henry Elementary and East Fifth Street Junior High. Vanessa graduated from Riverside High School, Chattanooga, Tennessee in 1977. After many years in Chattanooga, she moved to Orlando, Florida, where she married the late Charles Franklin. She was employed as a Cosmetologist for many years. In addition, Vanessa worked for the National Linen Service, Andy Fran and Pizza Hut. Vanessa's religious affiliations included Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church and Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in Eatonville, Florida, where she later moved her membership under the leadership of Pastor Willie C. Barnes. Vanessa served faithfully in the Choir,Usher Board and supported other organizations and areas in the church until her passing. On Monday, April 21, 2025, Vanessa gained her wings and went home to be with the Lord. She leaves to cherish fond memories: two Sons, Antonio T. Barnes, Orlando, Florida and Robert W.
