Sharon A. Smith

Sharon A. Smith was born on September 16, 1959, in Zellwood, Florida, to parents, Nathaniel Smith and Helen Reddick. She grew up in Zellwood, and settled in Apopka, Florida to raise her family. Sharon was united in love with her spouse, Akpan James. She was a true cornerstone in her family whose devotion was second to none. She was an amazing and present mother and cherished grandmother whose family meant so much to her. Family gatherings were her absolute favorite. She always made time to spend quality time with her children and grandchildren and stood as their biggest supporter. Sharon loved for her family more than anything and made sure they knew it. She was well-known in both the Zellwood and Apopka communities for her contagious smile and warmth that welcomed everyone she came in contact with. She was an amazingly authentic person, who was a big encourager, very emotional, and inspiring for her friends and family alike. Sharon loved the Lord and would actively participate in online services every Sunday. She believed in God and held Him at the center of her life and family. Sharon will be remembered for the love she shared with her family and the special place she held in the hearts of those who knew and Loved her. Her life was a blessing to many, and her memory will continue to live on through the family and friends she leaves behind. Sharon A. Smith, 66, of Zellwood, Florida, peacefully departed this life on August 2, 2026, in Orlando, Florida. She was preceded in death by her father, Nathaniel Smith; mother, Helen Reddick; children, Nikki Smith, Sr., and Aniefiok James; and siblings Ronnie Jean Thornton, Lawrence Robinson, and Sheila Huntley. She leaves to cherish her precious memory her loving husband, Akpan James; children: Desheka Smith, Daquan Smith (Eboni), Tshwanda Smith, Idoreyin Ruffin, Trent James, Brent James; and Precious Huntley (Ralph). Sharon is also survived by her siblings: Beverly Roberson, Melvin Huntley (Chakia), and Yvette Huntley; her devoted grandchildren, Bryana Smith and Cordaijah Louder, along with a host of other grandchildren and great-grandchildren, extended family members, other loving relatives and dear friends. Although Sharon’s earthly journey has come to an end, her love, her memories, and the impact she has made on those around her will remain. She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever held in the hearts of those who knew her.
