Mary Davis Busby

Life Mary Davis Busby was born in Mt. Dora, Florida to Mr. Anderson Able and Mrs. Maebelle Able. There, she established herself as an achiever within the Lake County Public Schools. Mary Busby graduated from Mount Dora High School. Always a leader in her high school, she was a drum major and advent student. After graduating high school, she went on to attend college where she earned her Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education. Leader Mary ran several businesses with her family and was a prominent community leader. Being the entrepreneur she was, she became the owner her own business, "F.E.M." (Financial Educational Management, Inc.) for well over 30 years. Providing quality jobs and services within the Orlando community and thought out Central Florida. As an insurance broker, she quickly rose to the top of the leadership boards, earning her the title, "Millionaire Mary". The title was not only indicative of her achievements in business but also of the countless community members she single-handedly led and promoted to succeed in their own right and business endeavors. Having a passion and desire to invest in the next generation, Mary later opened Elite Learning Academy, which was a childcare center preparing students with excellence in education and curriculum. There, she was able to shape young minds and mold them to overcome generational poverty and socio-economic stereotypes and norms. Mary owned and simultaneously led both the insurance company and childcare center providing caring support while meeting the needs of families across Central Florida. Mary was a dedicated member of Unity Missionary Baptist Church in Apopka, Florida , under the leadership of Pastor Jay Robinson and Pastor Emeritus Sam Hargrove. She was very instrumental in supporting the Women's Ministry and empowering them to become strong women of faith and business. Beyond her business acumen, Mary was a confident, outgoing woman of ultimate style and fashion. She was just as impressive in her dress as she was in business. She loved shopping, looking and smelling great, and spending quality time with family and friends. Legacy On November 15, 2024, Mary left this earthly realm of labor and entered into her eternal rest, leaving her family and friends to cherish the many wisdoms and nuggets of life, they shared along the way. Mary was preceded in death by her Father, Anderson Able; Mother, Maebelle Able; Son, Freddie Copeland "Mango"; Brothers: Tom Willis and Thomas Able; and Sister, Annette. Mary leaves to cherish her memories: Husband, Freddie Busby of Apopka, Florida; Daughters: Yohaniecia Cummings of Apopka, Florida, Alfredia Siplen (Sam) of Orlando, Florida, Wilkishia Reese of Apopka, Florida, and Angel Robinson (Yamil) of Apopka, Florida; Brothers: Dan Davis, Jr. of Apopka, Florida, Sherman "Jr" of Lake County, Florida, and Leroy Williams of Orlando, Florida; Sisters: Linda Harmond of Georgia, Cathy Davis of Apopka, Florida, Ruby Mcfadden of Florida; Grandchildren: Tavares Copeland, Davisha Conyers, Quentin Davis, Adreonnis Reyes, Wilkiya Reyes, Samm Hill, Shannon Simons, Alan Robinson, Jr., Shannon Simons III, Alijah Robinson, Wilaya Reese, and Ava Robinson. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and friends.
