Marilyn Marie Sconions

Mariyln Marie Sconions was born May 24, 1946 in Ocala, Florida to parents, Charles L. Campbell and Roberta Lee Calvin. She loved her people, she loved her community, and she sacrificed so much to be of service. As a teenager in the 1960’s, she marched fighting for Civil Rights. She also protested participating in sit-ins and even spent time in a jail cell. After starting a family and relocating from Ocala, Florida to the Historic Town of Eatonville, Florida, she continued to serve her community by campaigning for local, state, and national government officials. She along with a group of dedicated ladies formed an organization called The Eatonville Citizens Committee, later known as The Eatonville Citizens, Inc. These ladies were essentially the “Mothers of Eatonville” working together to beautify and uplift the community. In the early 1990’s, she became an elected official for the Historic Town of Eatonville, serving her community for more than 25 years. In the last year prior to her passing, she continued serving as a mentor to the next generation of political hopefuls, who wish to serve the Eatonville Community. Marilyn was preceded in death by her Father, Charles L. Campbell; Mother, Roberta Lee Calvin; Brother, Everett Rudolph Campbell; Sister, Nancy L. Campbell; Great Grandsons: Jahlil Evan Sullivan and Jaxston Elijah Sullivan. Left to cherish memory and treasure her legacy…Children: Baruti Akiiki Abdallah-Nosakhere (Lisa Marie) of Eustis, Florida and Tammy Lorraine Davis of Eatonville, Florida; Siblings: Charlena Campbell Kinsler (Hinton) of Morristown, Florida, Dr. Verdell L. Campbell (Alemiseh) of Ocala, Florida, and Lindell Campbell of Kissimmee, Florida; Grandchildren: Antoinette Marie Scully, LaNeil Auze’ Davis, Anthony Keith Hood II, Auzelique Denise Davis, Timothy Emanuel Daniels III, George Theodore Davis IV, and Alyse Nicollette Poleon; Great Grandchildren: Jade Evonne Sullivan, Astrid Elizabeth Scully, Layla Brielle Hood, Ame’lie\ Christina Scully, Jace Easton Sullivan, Londyn Marie Hood, and Kobe Joseph Hood; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving relatives, community members and friends.
