He was born the eleventh of thirteen children to parents, Christopher Columbus Davis and Janie Mills Davis. He attended Jasper County Public Schools, and eventually dropped out in the 10th grade to work and help out his widowed mother. Leo moved to Tampa, Florida in the late 1950’s, and in time, he met a young lady by the name of Eula Mae Adams. They were married on July 16, 1961, and eventually settled in Altamonte Springs, Florida. To their union, seven sons and one daughter were born. For many years, Leo served as a foreman at Orange Paving Construction Company and Briar Construction Company. He retired from Briar Construction Company after many years. His favorite hobby and past time was fixing cars. He also enjoyed watching Orlando Magic games on T.V. He enjoyed spending quality time with his family, especially his grands and great grands. Leo loved the Lord and was a faithful member of Ward Chapel A.M.E. Church in Winter Park, Florida, where he served on the Board of Trustees for many years. On May 21, 2023, after a brief illness, Leo Wallace Davis, Sr. accepted God’s invitation to rest from earthly cares and awaits the second coming of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was preceded in death by his Father, Christopher Columbus Davis; Mother, Janie Mills Davis; Brothers: Chris Davis, Mondell Davis, John Davis, Socrates Davis, and Precely Davis; and Sisters: Gladys Allen, Elloree Jackson, Ruth Hollins, Donna Williams, and Myrtle Lewis. Left to cherish his memory and continue in his legacy are his loving and devoted Wife, Eula Mae Davis of Altamonte Springs, Florida; Sons: Leo W. Davis, Jr. (Tina) of Ocoee, Florida, Ronald Davis of Altamonte Springs, Florida, Dexter Davis (Wendy) of Fairfax, South Carolina, Brian Davis, Sr. of Altamonte Springs, Florida, Roderick Davis (Magda) of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Michael Davis, Sr. (Nicole) of Apopka, Florida, and Chad Davis of Orlando, Florida; Daughter, Katrina Davis of Winter Park, Florida; Sisters: Marguerite Watkins and Mary Alice Battle, both of Tampa, Florida; Brothers-in-law: Harry Jones of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Charlie Jones and Jacob Cohen, both of Deltona, Florida, and Bartholomew Williams of Winter Park, Florida; Sister-in-law, Vernice Davis of Thonotosassa, Florida; 22 Grandchildren; 13 Great Grandchildren; 1 Godson; 5 Goddaughters; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving relatives and friends.
