Janie Mae Curry

Janie Curry was born on December 18, 1939 in Belle Glade, Florida to Harry Jackson and Keola Pittman. She grew up in Belle Glade, Florida and was the youngest of ten siblings. She attended Palm Beach County school system where she graduated from EVH High School in Belle Glade Florida. Janie was employed by Thomas' English Muffin Bakery for twenty years holding the position as Head Baker. Janie accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior many years ago and served God with great determination and motivation throughout her life. George and Janie were married on September 1, 1984 sharing 30 years of marital bliss, while parenting 5 children, Angel Scunions, Willie Joe Barber Jr., Angelo "PeeWee" Jones, Stephen "Dion" Jackson, and Stephanie "Lady" Jackson. She loved community work and being active in the lives of her grandchildren. The children best describe her as a woman of deep faith totally devoted to her family, children, and grandchildren. Words could not express their love, gratitude, appreciation and respect for her. She had a unique ability to create her own style and grace. While always instilling character, Godly values and the need to further their education. Janie and George provided for their children and grandchildren many privileges by exposing them to camps, countless activities, trips across the US and many family planned excursions. Their children were certainly loved and most importantly raised in the love of Christ. Janie Curry was truly a phenomenal woman focused but yet flexible with a truly giving spirit to all those she loved. She was preceded in death by her parents Harry Jackson and Keola Pittman, one brother and two sisters: James, Helen and Ella. She leaves behind: her devoted and loving husband George Curry; son, Angelo Jones in Lynchburg, Virginia; daughter, Stephanie Jackson in Stockbridge, Georgia; nine grandchildren, (Mikal, Fredrick, Angel, Harold, Tiffany, Alexander, Gabrielle, Kenny, Dwayne); siblings, Elnora Ivory, Raymond and Shirley Jackson, all of Utica, New York; Harry Jackson, Colenthia Wilson and Agnes Frazier all of Belle Glade, Florida; Jewel Woods of Lake Wales, Florida; sister-in-law, Yvonne Johnson; brother-in-law, Ronald and Carolyn Curry all of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; twenty great-grandchildren, expecting one great great-grandchild, family and friends to cherish her loving memory.
