Howard Lee Wilson

A Time to be Born Howard Lee Wilson was born April 14, 1947 in Winter Park, Florida to parents, Donald R. Wilson and Myrtle E. Sykes Wilson. A Time to Learn Howard attended Orange County Public Schools and graduated from Hungerford High School in the class of “65”. A Time to Work Shortly after graduating high school, Howard went on to proudly serve his country by joining the United States Army. While enlisted, he completed two tours of duty in Vietnam. After being honorably discharged the Army, Howard worked hard to care for his family and began a career in commercial roofing and remained in that field until retirement. A Time to Enjoy Howard was a devoted family man, friend, and all around great man! He had a quiet calm about him, that was endearing and reassuring to his family and friends. As quiet as he seemed, Howard was full of life. He was an avid fisherman and would spend countless days and hours on the boat fishing with his beloved wife and fishing buddy, Mary. Howard also enjoyed spending quality time with his family. He would embark on numerous family vacations and cruises just to fulfill his love for travel and enjoy to solitude and fellowship of family. He was also a dedicated member of The Shelter Church C.O.G.I.C. in Winter Springs, Florida, under the leadership of Pastor Jonathan McGriff. A Time to Rest Although he conquered cancer three times before, Howard peacefully slipped away into his eternal rest on July 8, 2023. He was preceded in death by his Father, Donald R. Wilson; Mother, Myrtle E. Sykes Wilson; Brothers: Donald R. Wilson, Jr., Jerome Wilson, and Jackie L. Wilson; Sisters: Jewel Wilson and Frances Carter. A Time to Mourn Howard leaves to cherish his memory: His wife and fishing buddy for 30 years, Mary Louise Wilson of Winter Park, Florida; Children: Tina of Atlanta, Georgia, Tawana (Jonathan) and Shanitha, both of Oviedo, Florida, Dianna of Orlando, Florida, and Michael, Jr. of Winter Park, Florida; Siblings: Phyllis Cooper of Orlando, Florida, Laverne Woodard (Ronald) of Winter Park, Florida, and Jackquelyn Robinson of Altamonte Springs, Florida; “Special Lil Buddy”, De’Neair, along with a host of other grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving relatives and friends.
