Gearline Reed

Mrs. Gearline Rivers Reed was born on August 19, 1939, in Nashville, Georgia to the late Roosevelt and Pearline Rivers. Her education experience took place in the Lanier County School System. She accepted the Lord in her life at an early age. She served as a faithful member to Royal Temple Independent Free Methodist as a First Lady, Stewardess, and Missionary until she moved her membership to Bethel Free Independent Methodist Church where she served as a faithful Stewardess until health no longer allowed her to serve. She was a very strong woman of God who walked in wisdom and faith. She loved to praise and share the goodness of the Lord. On September 15, 1955, she was united in Holy Matrimony to Carroll James Reed Sr. and in this union twelve children were born, Betty, Dorrene, Michael, Marie, Sampson, Chris, Carroll Jr., Mary, Jerena, Joyce, Jonathan, and Joshua Gearline was preceded in death by her son Michael, parents Roosevelt and Pearline Rivers, sister, Reatha Mae Fudge, brother, Jerone Rivers, and son-in-law Tony Bazin. She leaves to cherish her love and many memories: husband, Carroll J. Reed Sr., of Mt. Dora; children, Betty (Tony, deceased) Bazin of Nashville, GA, Dorrene (Jeremiah) Fuller, Marie (Ronnie) Ward, both of Eustis, FL, Sampson Reed of Mt. Dora, Chris (Mary) Reed of Orlando, Carroll J. (Natalie) Reed of Jacksonville, FL, Mary Reed, of Mt. Dora, Jerena (Mark) Bell of Orlando, FL, Joyce (Melvin) Scott of Mt. Dora, Jonathan (Erica) Reed of Gainesville, FL, and Joshua (Maleah) Reed of Tallahassee, FL; three sisters, Arletha (Jimmie Lee) Walker of Sorrento, FL, Mary (J.B.) Porter , Patricia (Larry) Newsome both of Homerville, GA; two brothers, Roosevelt Rivers of DuPont, GA, and Jerry (Betty) Rivers of Eustis, FL; two sisters-in-law, Barbara (Buford) Jackson of Valdosta, GA, Brenda (Robert-Deceased) Johnson; three Brothers-in-Law; John (Sandra) Lewis, Carlton (Caroline) Lewis, Of Nashville, GA, Frank (Juanita) Lewis of Valdosta, GA. She also leaves three uncles: George Johnson, Ozell Johnson of Willachoochee, GA, Earnest Johnson of Ft. Pierce, Fl; two aunts; Lee Ester Day of Ft. Pierce, FL and Iza Bell Ike of Miami, thirty-eight grandchildren, forty-eight great grand children and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
