After graduating high school, Fred attended Livingston College and Florida A&M University. Fred's life changed forever when he met Ivy Taylor Griffin, the love of his life. Their love story culminated in a beautiful wedding on July 20, 1996, marking the beginning of their lifelong journey together. Their union was blessed with two children. Fred pursued entrepreneurship in cooking barbecue and photography. He devoted his life to God, attending Freedom Ministries Church and serving on the sound crew. He was inducted into the Apopka Sports Hall of Fame. It is heartening to know that he held his entire family close to his heart, and that love was reciprocated by his family and many friends. His smile and warm heart welcomed everyone, bringing people together with a desire to fellowship and enjoy life. With family by his side, Fred transitioned from earth to heaven Sunday, December 31, 2023, where he received his "wings". He will be greatly missed by all those whose lived he touched throughout the years. Fredrick Griffin was preceded in death by his father: Johnnie Lee Griffin, Grandmothers: Lula Griffin and Almeter Head. Sister: Mary Fountain. Aunt: Lula Pearl Walker. He leaves to cherish his memory and legacy... Wife: Ivy Taylor Griffin; Mother: Margaret Head {Apopka}. Sons: Fredrick Griffin II (Simone) {Apopka}. Lee Burton, Jr. {Orlando}. Daughters: Avachon Williams {Apopka}. Deja Williams {Orlando}. Goddaughters: Chavela Chambers {Orlando}. Michai K. Whiting {Apopka}. Sisters: Connie Zanders {Orlando}, Debra Brockington {Apopka}, Angela Griffin-Simmons (Michael), Valerie Griffin, Sucondre Griffin-Fisher (Timothy). Brothers: Robert Griffin, Sr., James Griffin, Sr. (Tamara), Ronnie Griffin all of Apopka, FL, Norris Griffin, Sr. {New York}. Grand Children: Eryn Griffin, Aubrey Griffin, Skylar Griffin, Kimia Gibson, August Edmond, Denajha Horne, Dante Horne, Dash Horne, King Burton, Armoni Burton, JaLeeyah Williams and host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and sorrowing friends.
