Eddie McCall

Eddie McCall was born on March 17, 1951, in Miami, Florida, to the late Willie and Lillie Mae McCall. In God's divine timing, Eddie's earthly journey came to a close as he entered eternal rest to be reunited with his Creator. Eddie was raised in Miami and attended Miami-Dade Public Schools. He was a graduate of Miami Northwestern High School. He met the love of his life, Vanessa, and the two were united in holy matrimony in May 1988 by Reverend William "Billie" Hawkins. From this union, they were blessed with a son, Jarris Edward McCall. After Jarris' birth, Eddie chose to pursue a new career path to better provide for his family. He entered the protessional cleaning services industry, working for Sunshine Cleaning and later at the Orange County Convention Center. After marriage, Eddie began attending church and learned to be a hearer and doer of God's word. He joined Greater Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church of Tangerine, Florida, where he was baptized by Reverend Craig P. Riley, Sr. Eddie loved his family and friends and traveled to Miami regularly. Close friends and family affectionately called him one of the following names: "Eddie Red", "Red", "Unc", "Peter Tommy"', or "Peter Red". He proudly represented Miami and was a devoted fan of the Miami Dolphins and the University of Miami Hurricanes. He embraced life with joy, often laughing and bringing joy to those around him. Eddie was preceded in death by his father, Willie McCall; his mother, Lillie Mae McCall; Eddie was also preceded in death by his son, Jarris McCall, who passed on March 29, 2024; his brothers: Willie McCall, Jr., Ronnie Johnson, Arthur McCall, and Gary McCall; and sisters: Barbara Hawkins, Valdez Parker, Selma Brunson, Connie McCall, and Patricia Scott. He leaves to cherish his loving and devoted wife, Vanessa Swinton McCall; his daughter, Twalla Williams; and his grandson, Najee Crespo; Sisters: Carrie "Dola" Miller (Norman) of Radford, North Carolina, Gussie Simmions, and Paula McCall of Miami, Florida, Lyndia McCall Wright of Baltimore, Maryland, and Jackie Matthews (Garvin) of Apopka, Florida; Brothers: Donald Johnson (Cathy), Miramar, Florida, Kevin "Bo" McCall (Lola) of Orlando, Florida; Sisters-in-law, Maple James (John) Willis, Texas, and Mary McCall (Bennie deceased), Lake Mary, Florida; Brother-in-law, Villiam "Bill" Swinton, III; Parents-in-law, William Swinton, Jr. (Gladys) of Eustis, Florida; Special Aunts, Rosetta Boone and Bernice Hayes; Godchildren: Jalen Matthews, Kyndall Nix, and Jalen Duece Da'mir Matthews; "A Circle of Special Friends of Miami" and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
