Dora R. Clark Jones

I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith; henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto them also that love His appearing. II Timothy 4:7-8 Mother Dora Jones was born on September 3, 1928 in Titusville, Florida to Titus Brown and Carrie B. Brown. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend Wilder. She moved to Orlando and joined New Life Angel Church under the leadership of Pastor Lola Sams, where she served as Church Mother. She served faithfully for over 30 years. Mother Jones was a Mother, Grandmother, Missionary, Evangelist and Confidant. Most of all she displayed the qualities of a virtuous women as those described in Matthew 25:36-40. To the blessed union of Dora and Albert Clark were twelve children. She was preceded in death by her mother, Carrie Brown, father, Titus Brown, sister, Elizabeth Bronner, son, Willie Clark, brothers, Willard Brown, Lloyd Brown, Charlie Brown, Jerome Brown and daughter, Gwendolyn Gatewood, sons-in-law, Homer Rich, Harry Jackson, Benjamin Blige, daughter-in-law, Cora Clark. Surrounded by her loving family, the Lord in His infinite wisdom deemed it timely to call Mother Jones from this earthly tabernacle of clay to her eternal home in glory on Wednesday, May 28, 2014. Her departure is a deep and personal loss to her many family members and friends and she will be greatly missed by them all. She leaves to cherish precious memories: sons, David Clark (Betty), Gregory Clark of Orlando, Florida, Titus Clark, Anthony Clark (Mary) of Pointiaciana, Florida, Bruce Clark, Michael Clark (Friend, Tywanda), all of Winter Garden, Florida; daughters, Willie Mae Rich, Carol Clark Ward (Willie), all of Winter Garden, Florida, Mary Jackson, Sheila Washington (Leo), Cathy Clark, Barbara Clark all of Orlando, Florida, Reather Mae Blige of Richmond Hill, Georgia, Gertie Lee Hunter of Richmond Hill, Georgia, Albert Clark, Jr. of Savannah, Georgia; one hundred fifteen grandchildren, one hundred fifty-eight great grandchildren; ten great, great grandchildren; out of Mother Jones’ legacy, she produced a Bishop, Darrin Rich, an Apostle, Edward Blige, a Minister, Dennis Richardson; and a host of Evangelist, Missionaries; she also leaves a host of many other family members and friends.
