She attended Lake County Public Schools. Having lost her parents at an early age, Nuna was raised by her maternal grandfather, E.O. Hodges, whom she fondly called, “Papa” and the Hodges family. As a young adult, she set out to start a life of her own and moved to Tampa, Florida. There, she worked domestically until she found her passion to cook. She later became a Head Chef at Piccadilly Cafeteria, where she worked for over 15 years. She then decided to move back to the place she called home (Lake County) and proudly built her first home. She became united in Holy Matrimony to Moses Terry, who was a loving husband and wonderful provider. Cornelia was the backbone of her family taking care of many children and family members in her home. She was also well known and respected in South Lake County. A hard worker in order to accomplish in life and support her family, she also worked in Citrus as a path to entrepreneurship and eventually owner her own business. Cornelia was a devoted wife, loving mother and a very endearing grandmother as family meant the world to her. She enjoyed spending quality time with her children and grandchildren, three generations over. Cornelia loved the Lord which was evident in her service to her church, Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Groveland, Florida. She dutifully and faithfully served as a Trustee as well as over saw the kitchen with the church’s hospitality committee for many years. Although the Lord peacefully summoned Cornelia home into her eternal rest, our hearts rejoice having been touched by her life and graced with her presence while here on earth. Cornelia was preceded in death by her Father, Willie Taylor; Mother, Henrietta Hodges; Husband, Moses Terry; Son, James C. Brown; and Sisters: Christine Lumpkin and Eva Mae Robinson; Brothers: Hayzell Brown and Joe Taylor. Left to cherish her memories and honor her beautiful life, are her Sons: Stanley Young of Stuckey, Florida and Ernest Young of Stuckey, Florida; Daughters: Janice Stroud of Tampa, Florida and Renee Young of Orlando, Florida; 16 Grandchildren; 32 Great Grandchildren, 12 Great-Great Grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives, church family and friends.
