Clarence Cummings, Sr.

Clarence Cummings Sr. was born in Edison, Georgia, to Annie Bell Riley Cummings and Charlie Cummings. He was the eldest son of ten siblings. A a young boy, his family relocated to Florida, where they lived with his moth er and Aunt Elizabeth. Raised in a God-fearing home, attending church was cherished and unwavering part of family life. Clarence, along with his siblings and cousins, enjoyed spending countless hours outdoors, exploring the woods and creating games that filled their childhood with laughter and lasting memories. A motorsports enthusiast, Clarence enjoyed the excitement o street racing and watching the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Clarence graduated from Charles R. Drew High School in Winter Garden, Florida, where he played football and met the love of his life, Polly Jean Kendrick. On December 21, 1965, Clarence and Polly were united in holy matrimony. Their loving union was blessed with a son and a daughter, and together they shared more than 60 years of marriage, building a legacy of love, faith, and family. Clarence dedicated more than 40 years of service to Waste Management. During his career, he served as a sanitation engineer, recycling equipment operator, and team leader. Known for his strong work ethic and leadership, he took great pride in serving his community through his profession. More importantly, Clarence was known for the way he cared for others. He was a compassionate caregiver, mentor, and surrogate parent to many members o his family offering guidance, encouragement, and unconditional love. His servant's heart extended beyond his family into his church community. For more than 30 years, he faithfully served as a board member and deacon at Circle of Faith Ministries of Orlando, Inc., where his daughter Cheryl serves as pastor. Through his wisdom, humility, steadfast faith, and servant heart, he touched countless lives. Clarence fought a good fight, kept the fait and finished his course with the same courage and grace, which characterized his life. On Monday, July 20, 2026, the Lord dispatched an angel to Deacon Clarence's bedside to escort him to his eternal home in Glory. Surrounded by hi beloved wife, daughter, and granddaughters, he peacefully completed his earthly journey while listening to "Precious Memories". His life was a testa ment to faith, devotion, service, and enduring love, and his legacy will con tinue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him. Deacon Clarence Cummings was preceded in death by his mother Annie B Francis, father Charlie Cummings, sisters: Linda Cummings, Essie Mae Lo gan and Brenda Gipson, brothers: David Cummings and Micheal Francis, mother-in-law Pearl Woods, and son-in-law Bishop Timothy C, Moore. Deacon Cummings leaves precious memories to be cherished by: His devoted wife: Polly Cummings; Children: Clarence Cummings Jr. (Judy), Cheryl MooreTurner (Kenneth). Special Son: Jerome Holley. Special Daughter: Sandra DauntainFairconeture (Ernest). Siblings: Ruth Redhead, Trudie Cook, Yvonne Cummings, Jeffery Cummings (Barbara), and Stephanie Robinson. In-Laws: Evangelist Ruby Brown (Superintendent Aurelius Brown), (SGM RET) Charley H. Kendrick (Wanda), Barbara Woods-Morrison (A.C), Patricia NiBlack; 13 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
