Ceymour Thompson

Ceymour Thompson was born on May 20, 1953 in Auchtembeddie, Manchester, Jamaica, to parents Roslyn and Seaford Adlam. Ceymour Thompson, better known as "Felix or Watahouse," as the eldest son, assumed responsibility at an early age and demonstrated a strong work ethic, assisting his father, a dedicated yam farmer, in providing for their large family of eleven children. Ceymour made the bold decision to leave high school and relocate to Kingston. There, he pursued vocational training and earned a trade certificate in plumbing. During his time in Kingston, he met Valinda Cameron, with whom he had two children, Gaye-Ann and Nicholas. Ceymour quickly built a reputation as a highly skilled and dependable plumber. His craftsmanship and dedication earned him the respect and admiration of many, and he became widely known in his community as one of the best in his trade. In 1988, he was presented with an opportunity to travel to the United States through the farm work program in Florida. This marked the beginning of a new chapter in his life. A few years later, he met and married Lana Scott, with whom he shared a home, and was later joined by his children. He went into construction where he worked for many years until he retired. Ceymour was a man of great strength, a great sense of humor, carefree in spirit, and was loved by his family and friends. He was a hardworking provider, a loving husband, a caring father, and a proud grandfather. He found joy in farming and took pride in planting and nurturing produce in his backyard. He also had a keen interest in politics and enjoyed watching political debates. On March 12th, 2026, Ceymour Thompson was tragically taken away from us. He will be missed and remembered for his unwavering love and support, his kind-hearted nature, great sense of humor, and the love he shared with all who knew him. His legacy of hard work, great work ethics, and positive outlook on life will live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind. Ceymour is preceded in death by: his mother, Roslyn Adlam; father, Seaford Adlam; sister, Phyllis; brothers, Winston and Ali. Ceymour is survived by: his wife, Lana Thompson of Orlando, Florida; children, Gaye-Ann Matthews (Daimia), Nicholas Thompson, and Kalana Williams, all of Orlando, Florida; siblings, Agatha, Sherril, Joyce, Eileen, Silton, Cleveland, and Glen, all of Jamaica; goddaughter, Suesay Allen of Cleveland, Ohio; and a host of other family and friends.
