Carrie Love Hudson

Carrie Love Hudson was born on April 21, 1928, in Newton, Georgia (Baker County) to the late Avada Love Hall and Robert Love. She was the third of nine children. At an early age, Carrie accepted the Lord as her personal Savior at Christ Church A.M.E. in Damascus, Georgia. She later married and raised her children in Damascus, where she laid the foundation of faith, family, and service that would guide her throughout her life. Carrie later relocated with her family to Orlando, Florida, where she began a long and dedicated career in hospitality and retail services. She was employed at the Dutch Inn Hotel (Lake Buena Vista), serving as a Housekeeping Supervisor. She later became employed at the Naval Training Center (Navy Exchange) in Orlando, Florida, where she worked faithfully as a Marketing and Checking Clerk for over twenty (20) years, before retiring. Carrie loved the Lord, her children, and her family deeply. She became a devoted member of Mt. Olive C.M.E. Church in Orlando, Florida, where she served faithfully as an usher for more than 30 years. On February 14, 1999, she united with True Vision in Christ, Church of the Living God, where she served diligently as Chairman of the Mother Board, Usher Board Member and Advisor, and Chairman of the Hospitality Committee. Carrie was exceptionally creative and had a deep love for art and crafts. She attended floral arranging classes with her daughter, Dr. Matricia H. Sanders, and became a certified florist. She worked hand-in-hand with her daughter at Matricia's Floral Boutique, creating top-tier floral arrangements for weddings, funerals, birthdays, banquets, and church events. In her leisure time, Carrie enjoyed sewing, solving crossword puzzles, and watching classic comedy shows such as Martin and The Golden Girls. Carrie's favorite quote was: "If you don't give up, God will show up." This saying touched many lives and encouraged countless individuals through their trials. Carrie was preceded in death by: her sons, Horace L. Jones, Sr., James (Jinnel) Hudson, Willie D. Hudson, and Felden "Bo" Hudson. She leaves to cherish her precious memory: her loving daughters, Deaconess Hellen H. Sanders (Curtis, Dr. Matricia H. Sanders, Bishop Carolyn H. Glenn (William), Janice "Lennes" Scott (James), and Bobbie H. Toney, all of Orlando, Florida; two grandsons whom she raised as her own sons, Michael D. Jones, Sr. and Horace Jones, Jr. (Tangela); her loving sisters, Willie Curry (Ernest) of Orlando, Florida, and Dorothy Noel (James) of Pontiac, Michigan; sisters-in-law, Janie Love of Orlando, Florida, Demetrius Hudson of Albany, Georgia, and Mary Love of Warner Robins, Georgia. She leaves a lasting legacy of 19 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren, and 34 great-great-grandchildren; along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.
