Mrs. Carmen Denise Martinez

Carmen Denise Martinez was born on December 29, 1959. She was the daughter of Carrie Armstrong and the illustrious granddaughter of Bessie and Joseph Washington and Nancy Armstrong. Niese, as she was affectionately known, grew up in Winter Park, Florida and later relocated to Orlando, Florida with her family. Niese graduated from Maynard Evans High School in Orlando, Florida in 1977 and kept in contact with many of her loving classmates throughout her lifetime. Niese began her career working for Eckerd Drugs in the warehouse. It was there that she also acquired beautiful lifetime friendships. Niese ended her career as a security guard for various hotels in the Orlando area. Niese was the love of her husband’s life. She lovingly referred to him as ‘Papi’. She was also the outgoing, humorous, and full loving mother of one son, ‘Zach’ and two daughters ‘Deanna’ and ‘Brandy’. Her beloved grandchildren who adored their grandmother; Nicholas and ‘Za’Mariah Denise’, were the highlight of her life, as she treasured spending as much time with them as possible. Niese delighted in all of her family, friends, and good food. Niese gave her life to the Lord at a young age, however she rededicated her life to the Lord and spent her final days in good cheer, full of the spirit of God, and enjoying her favorite songs from the William’s Brothers during her morning devotions. On Tuesday, January 2, 2017, the Lord deemed it timely to call our beloved Niese to her eternal resting place, her departure is a deep and personal loss to her family and friends and she will be greatly missed by them all. Niese was preceded in death by brother: Lamon Armstrong. She leaves to cherish precious memories to: her husband: Elias Martinez, Orlando, Florida, two daughters: Olymphia and Niki Davis, one son: Marcus Davis, Orlando, Florida, mother: Carrie Armstrong, Orlando, Florida, grandson: Nicholas Davis, granddaughter: Za’Mariah Davis, Orlando, Florida; brothers: Fallis Armstrong of Orlando, Florida, Tony Lee Armstrong of Syracuse, New York, Vernon Armstrong of Orlando, Florida, Dwayne Armstrong (LaShondra) of Rochester, New York; sisters: Velda Badal-Armstrong, Debra Jones (Karl) of Orlando, Florida, Wanza Armstrong of Syracuse, New York; uncles: Lewis Washington (Olivia) of Orlando, Florida, Young Armstrong (Suzanne) of Syracuse, New York, John Armstrong (Redetha); aunts: Linda Washington of Winter Park, Florida, Roshabell Armstrong of Apopka, Florida, Martha Burgmon of Eatonville, Florida, Pamela White (Ulysee) of Mt. Dora, Florida, Fredes Washington of Orlando, FL, Evelyn Howard (Walter) of Apopka, FL; Godmother: Bertha Paige; Godchildren: Michael Jones Jr., Pashion Terrell, Dyllan, Niya and Omega Boatman; special cousins: Marcus and Natalie Washington; best friends: Brenda Miller, Paula Reeves, Monica Williams; second family The Jennings Family; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
