Brittany Lakeshia Sledge

Brittany Lakeisha Sledge, affectionately called, “Brit and Breezy” by her family and friends, was born July 9, 1991 in Leavenworth, Kansas to parents, Hank A. Sledge and Elaine B. Sledge. Brittany grew up a military brat and was an absolute bundle of joy to her mom and dad from birth. During her youth, the family relocated to Orlando, Florida. Brittany attended Orange County Public Schools and graduated from Edgewater High School in the class of 2010. While in high school, she excelled as a student athlete, playing varsity basketball as a forward (Jersey #5). Being a student athlete and having such an outgoing personality, Brittany garnered great popularity on and off the court. She was popular amongst her classmates, family and friends alike. After high school, Brittany became employed at Rollins College as a cashier. Later, she began to work in the insurance industry as a call center representative and ultimately became employed driving trucks until her untimely passing. She loved the open road and thoroughly enjoyed driving city to city in Central Florida. Brittany’s crowning achievement was being a loving, caring and supportive mother to her beautiful five children. She was indeed a “SUPER MOM”. Her love for her young family was evident in her strive to support them in their many activities, sports, and and always spent quality time with them to reassure them of that fact. academics. She worked hard to keep them active as well as helped them to maintain honor roll, as their academics was very important to her. She stopped at nothing to provide a safe, fun, and loving environment for her children. She loved them deeply and always spend quality time with them to reassure them of that fact. Family was very important to Brittany and she loved all things fun. She enjoyed going to theme parks, having game nights, bowling, and hanging out with her sisters, Porshia, Andrea, and Donisha. She would always say that she had the BEST sisters in the world and she showed it every day. She was always full of sunshine and guaranteed to have a smile on her face. Her charisma made making friends rather easy no matter where she went. She quickly gained popularity among her friends and coworkers alike. She was very close to her parents and was sure to call them each and every day just to say hello, I love you, or to see how they were doing. She was very thoughtful and considerate to everyone. Brittany was also an amazing aunt to her nieces and nephews. She was the one who’d always volunteer to babysit and have fun with the kids. Her generosity and thoughtfulness was second to none. Her family could always depend on her to be there when they needed her at any given place or time. Although she was athletic and loved her self some Jordan Sneakers (she had EVERY one of them), she could equally loved heels and dressing up to go out with family and friends. Her favorite colors were red and black and her true heart beat was her children, parents and sisters. Brittany Lakeshia Sledge was preceded in death by her Grandfathers: Aaron Sledge and Harry Lee Garvin; Grandmother, Elizabeth Woods; and Great Grandmother, Carrie Amy Gordon.
