Anita Y. Small

Anita Yarbough Small was born on November 8,1954, to the late Marvin Thomas Yarbough and Ruth Yarbough. She was a beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend whose life was marked by faith, service, and compassion. Anita received her early education at Phyllis Wheatley Elementary School and Apopka Middle School before graduating from Apopka High School. She continued her educational journey by attending Phoenix College and International Seminary, reflecting her lifelong dedication to both personal and spiritual growth. Throughout her career, Anita worked for General Electric, Florida Hospital, and Sprint. She also served as a Teacher's Assistant at Phyllis Wheatley Elementary School, where she enjoyed helping and encouraging young students. A passionate entrepreneur, Anita owned and operated her own phlebotomy business and was also the proud part owner of Apopka Memorial Cemetery, where she compassionately served families during some of life's most difficult moments. Her work reflected her caring heart, commitment to service, and desire to leave a lasting impact on her community. Anita was the proud mother of Jackie Lamar Thomas Jr. and Jeanetta Thomas (Granddaughter) a loving grandmother to a host of amazing grandchildren and three wonderful great-grandchildren. She shared a special bond with her siblings, she leaves to cherish her memories: Sister, Reba Yarbough Bell. Anita is preceded in death by her father, Marvin Thomas; Mother, Ruth Yarbough; Brothers, Kevin Maurice; Yarbough, Wayne and Lamar Yarbough. At a young age, Anita accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and remained devoted to her faith throughout her life. She faithfully shared the love of Christ with others through her words, actions, and unwavering example. Her kindness, wisdom, generosity, and steadfast faith touched countless lives and left a lasting impact on all who knew her. Anita's legacy of faith, love, and service will continue to live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all those blessed to have known her. She will be deeply missed, forever cherished, and lovingly remembered.
