Reverend Anita Whitted Gaines

Reverend Anita Gaines was born on April 17, 1950, to her loving parents, Deacon Stanley "Brother" Henry Whitted, Jr. and Deaconess "Mother" Christine Carswell Whitted. She was a among five children born to this union. She was born and raised in Narcoossee, FL in a loving Christian home. Anita attended Kissimmee High School and continued her education in the Job Crops where she studied to he a teacher's Aide. Upon getting her certificate, she began working at Ross Jeffries Elementary for 6 years where she developed a love for children. After this time, she was employed by Mercury Marine, in St. Cloud, FL. She quickly moved up as a line leaders and eventually supervisor. She was employed for 38 years. On September 20, 2985, she was joined in Holy matrimony to Mr. Roosevelt Gaines, the love of her life. They were together for many years, but after many years of love and dedication to one another, they solidified their union. Roosevelt was dutiful in caring for Anita even before her health started to decline. When she needed additional support, he was there around the clock to provide care, love, cook meals and make sure Anita didn't want or need anything. He did all he could with the help of the Lord, family, and friends. They shared 38 wonderful, loving years together and raised 6 children. Early in her life, bein brought up in a Christian home, God placed an anointing on her life. She was a faithful and dutiful member of St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church in Narcoossee, FL for her entire life. She served in many capacities throughout they years, but the calling on her life was God's goas. She began a a MC. Then progressed to a speaker of the gospel. She then attended New Covenant Baptist Church in Orlando, FL for her theology certification. She was ordained as a Minister on September 9, 2001, at St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church. She was a faithful servant, teaches and Woman of God, even after her health started to decline. She was well known in the community as a giver with a loving heart. She had a passion for youth and was a role model and mentor for countless people throughout the community. She was a member of the Eastern Star; Chat-n-Chew and a beacon for the community. She loved to cook and bake cakes; this was another of her passions. When the heavenly Father says, "Well done, thy good and faithful servant, come now and take your rest," we must only believe that it leads to a glorious home that is free from sickness, pain , and suffering. Reverend Anita Gaines made the transition from this earthly home to her eternal home on Friday, January 19, 2024, while surrounded by her loving husband and family. She is now walking around heaven with her parents. She was preceded in death by her sisters Ella Mae Paul, Lorraine Whitted, her daughter Tracy Gaines, her parents and grandparents. She leaves to cherish her memories: A loving and Devoted Husband: Roosevelt Gaines; Caring and Loving Son: Terry Whitted and Connie "Hank" Landry; A Loving Niece Like a Daughter/Sister: Tracy Paul-Reed (Elder Williams W.); Loving Daughters: Kimberly Gaines, Terra Gaines, Catrina Gaines; Honorary Daughter: Beverlee Bailey; Adoring and Loving Brothers: Stanley Whitted III and Johnny Whitted; Adopted Grandchildren: Jarvis Fulton and Danielle Giaquinto; Like A Brother : Robert Brown (Vernita) and Johnny Burks (Lavonne); Dear Friends: Gussie Brown, Minnie Brown, and Darlene Sippio; God Children: Angeliena Brown Ebere and Spe'-Chaelle Brown; and a host of other grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
