Ancel George Robinson

Ancel Ceorge Robinson, affectionately known as "Robbie", was born on March 1st, 1926 in Chapelton, Jamaica to Thomas Robinson and Albertina Robotham. He passed away on the afternoon of Monday, October 10th, 2022 which would have been his beloved wife Sylvia's 93rd birthday. Growing up, he attended Wolmers and went on to graduate from Excelsior High School. After graduation, he immediately started working. He ultimately began employment at the Agricultural Development Corporation (ADC) where he was the Head of Machine Maintenance. Sometime in the early 50's he met the love of his life, Sylvia Delores Browne and in 1952, they were married. They had 5 beautiful children-Tony, Charmaine, Trevor, Richard and finally Carol. In 1960, he and his family moved to Harborview where they stayed until they made the huge transition to New York City in 1969. After moving to New York, Robbie started working as a mechanic. In 1972, he and Sylvia purchased a home in Long Island at 111 West Fulton Ave. Robbie had a great sense of humor and was most certainly a people-person. He invited hundreds of people to their Long Island home as they hosted a myriad of parties and events. He loved his family and friends and loved to entertain. In 2004, he and Sylvia migrated to Orlando, FL where they both lived until their passing. He is preceded in death by his lovely wife Sylvia, who passed in 2019, and his daughter Charmaine and granddaughter Jenny. He leaves behind 4 children-Tony (Diane), Trevor; Richard (Lee) and Carol, 12 grandchildren-Ancel, Charmaine, Carl, Dahlia, Natasha, Lisa, Serena, Brandon, Daneene, Matthew, Nathan and Jordan, 27 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter. Robbie will forever be remembered for his sense of humor, affinity for jazz. music, hardworking nature, and devotion and dedication to his family and friends. He was a man beloved by so many. He will be sorely missed but never forgotten. The family would like to express appreciation to the staff at Orlando Health Memory Care Facility as well as the many physicians who participated in his care over the past few years. We would also like to thank Marvin C. Zanders Funeral Home, Inc. as well as the members and staff of the Church of the Holy Family.
