As a youth, Viola grew up in Apopka, Florida and attended Phyllis Wheatley Elementary/High School. At a very young age Viola gave her life to Christ. She became a member of Freedom Ministries Church and was subsequently ordained as a Minister under the leadership of Pastor Freddie Filmore, Sr. in Apopka, Florida. Viola had different occupations throughout her life in the food and nutrition industry. Viola retired as a Food Service Manager for Orange County Public Schools after serving nearly 30 years. The Lord in His infinite wisdom deemed it timely to call our beloved Viola Filmore Stewart from our midst on October 11, 2020. Her departure is truly a deep and personal loss to her family and friends and she will be greatly missed by them all. Viola was preceded in death by her mother, Fannie Mae Caddle, father, Clifton Filmore, her supportive stepfather, Frank “Papa” Jackson, and brothers: Willie James Filmore, William Filmore, and Nathaniel Filmore, Sr. Viola leaves to cherish her legacy and memory to her: Husband, Earnest Stewart of Apopka, Florida; Son: Julian L. Grubbs of Apopka, Florida; Daughter: Tasha Grubbs-Whiting (Mikel) of Apopka, Florida; Stepfather, Lutton Ashby Caddle (Luerene); Grandchildren: Travis Grubbs, Autumn Richmond (Natalie), Amber Richmond, Krystinee Brown, and Michai Whiting; Brothers: Leroy Filmore, Sr. (Amy), Freddie Filmore, Sr. (Eva), Stephen Hinds (Felicia), and Marcus Long; Sisters: Faybelle Eady (Benny) and Marcia Long; Brother-in-law: Andrew Stewart ; Sisters-in-law: Mary Alice Jackson, Odessa Howard (Freddie), Vera Williams, Debra McKinney (Louis), and Hazel Hollis; Godchildren: James Washington, Jr., William Smith, Elgin Freddrick (Dava), and Quendre Alexander; Honorary Godchildren: Fredrick Griffin, Sr. (Ivy), Jerry Chambers (Diane), Shawn Sutton, Jr. and Jaycon Lewis; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
