    Rosa L. Davis

    March 8, 1961 - January 30, 2021

Rose Nan Davis, who would later go by Rosa, was born in Daytona Beach, Florida, on March 8, 1961, to Geraldine McKenzie and Benny Trottman. He was the fifth of nine children. Rosa attended Seabreeze High School in Daytona Beach, where she graduated with a 4.0 GPA. She would subsequently be accepted to Florida State University, where she majored in Arts and Fashion Design. Years later she would move back home to attend Daytona State College, where she would continue her education. During her time back home, she would begin attending the Church of God in Christ, where she would ultimately become a member. After her college career, she would return to Orlando to begin her adult life. In 1986, she secured employment with the State of Florida’s Child Support Division. In 1987, Rosa would give birth to her first child, Rahmaar Shabazz. In the next few years Rosa would become a member of her new church home, Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church. A few years later she would give birth to her second child, Adonnis Franklin and would move to South Orlando to continue her State employment with Children’s Medical Services. Over the next two decades Rosa would work hard and create an unbreakable bond with her family while raising her two young boys. In 2014, Rosa retired from the State of Florida, with 27 years of service. The next few years she would endure many health hurdles but throughout would remain strong and faithful, as well as a beacon of love and encouragement to family and friends. She passed peacefully on the morning of January 30, 2021. She is survived by her two sons Rahmaar and Adonnis.
