From the age of 5 through 15, Julian attended the Portsmouth St. John’s School. Then at age 16, Julian began his first job as a construction worker/apprentice. Even while working in the field of construction, Julian was fascinated with sailing since he practically lived 16 years on a beachfront. Julian eventually enlisted as a sailor man visiting neighboring islands, where he experienced several exciting adventures. In 1977, Julian migrated to the United States to join his siblings and to start a new live in New York City. Julian’s love for the ocean continued and led him to his first job at the Flushing World Mariner in Flushing, New York repairing vessels. Three years later, Julian married his beloved wife, Sandra Valentine, on October 4, 1980 and had three beautiful children, Julian (Ronald) Valentine, Jason Valentine and his only daughter, Jelica Valentine DeLaine. In 1986, Julian and Sandra relocated to Central Florida, where the couple purchased their marital home and Julian excelled as a skilled carpenter for Webber & Tucker Masonry until his retirement. Julian was extremely hard-working and caring, as he continuously provided for his wife and family. Julian enjoyed spending time with close friends and family members, while ensuring that everyone he came into contact with was well taken care of. He was preceded in death by his parents: Richard Valentine and Henrietta Nee Gilbert. Julian is survived by his Wife of 40 years, Sandra Valentine; Sons: Ronald Valentine (Ameaka) and Jason Valentine (Jenea Rodriguez); Daughter, Jelica DeLaine (Marquis); 6 Grandchildren: Jahune Valentine, Jay’la Valentine, Darius Valentine, Jah’zi Valentine, Mya DeLaine and Taylor DeLaine; Siblings: Zephrin Selwood, Maudlin Thompson, Rosanna George, Nathalie Valentine-Joseph, Roger Valentine, Martin Valentine, Roland Valentine and Albert Valentine; and a host of Nieces, Nephews and close Friends.
