She was the ninth of ten children born to Robert Lee and Lucy Cornelia Hightower. Years later, she moved to Orlando, Florida and joined the Mount Olive Seventh Day Adventist Church shortly after it was organized in 1952. She was a faithful member for 68 years and served the church as an Usher, Deaconess, Community Service and Hospitality Leader. She enjoyed spending time talking to Jesus everyday; when she woke up, during the day and before she went to bed. She was a faithful advocate and true servant of God, her faith was phenomenal and nothing could change that. She also enjoyed spending time with family, going to church, baking and cooking. She was the true Matriarch of her family and a second mother/ grandma to many. She was funny, caring, loving, nurturing and a beautiful spirit full of strength and joy. She was always smiling and giving to others, whether it was something as small as baking her signature sweet potatoe pie to whatever it is you needed. There was no limit if she had it you did too. No need to give examples of how much of a good person Myrtice was, as everyone who knew her experienced it firsthand. She was a faithful advocate and true servant of God, her faith was phenomenal, and nothing could change that. On November 11, 2020 she earned her wings. She has served God well and we find comfort in knowing that she has lived a life with purpose and fulfilled a centennial milestone.
