    Morris Lenard Bright, Sr.

    November 19, 1953 - February 1, 2022

Morris Lenard Bright, Sr. was born on November 19, 1953 in Valdosta, Georgia to Wadie Bright, Jr. and Leartis Bright. Morris graduated from Wymore Tech in 1971, in the historical town of Eatonville, Florida, where he was a phenomenal football and basketball player. Morris was well known for his charming smile, his kind heart and his many kangol hats. Morris had a lifelong career in the trucking industry; which he fully enjoyed doing. Morris was no stranger to the Christian faith having grown up in a Christ centered household. It was however, later in his adult life that he decided to allow Jesus to be the Lord of his life and he made the commitment to live for Christ for the rest of his days. It was on his way to Virginia Beach, VA, that his transformation occurred. There under the leadership of Bishop John Jimenez, Morris became a dedicated member and servant of the Rock Church. Morris tangibly experienced the forgiveness and redeeming love of Jesus Christ, under the Nehemiah Ministry at the Rock Church. His love and exuberance for sharing the gospel in the nonjudgmental manner led him to becoming one of the leaders of the ministry. Morris’s love for the Word of God and sharing the gospel remained throughout his life. It was not uncommon for Morris to leave a memento of the love of Jesus Christ wherever he went. In 2016, Morris decided to return to his hometown, to spend his last years with his mother, children and family. Morris will truly be missed by his family and friends. The Lord in His infinite wisdom deemed it timely to call our beloved Morris to his eternal resting place on Tuesday, February 1, 2022. His departure is a deep and personal loss to his family and many friends. He will be greatly missed by all of them. Morris was preceded in death by his father: Wadie Bright, Jr.; son: Morris Lenard Bright, Jr. and brother, John Bright. He leaves to cherish precious memories to his mother, Leartis Bright of Winter Park, Florida; children: Kimberly Bright Barnes (Lenier), Dezara Bright and Demetrias S. Bright, Sr., (Nikki) all of Orlando, Florida; siblings: Freddie C. Everett (Mary) of Atlanta, Georgia, Delaine Bright of Winter Park, Florida, Bettye Bright Edwards of Maitland, Florida; daughterin-law, Carla Bright of Douglasville, Georgia; three grandchildren, Tarick Barnes, William Ray Howard and Demetrias Bright, Jr.; a host of other loving relatives and friends
