Lorenzo Brower, Jr.
May 5, 1948 - July 7, 2021
Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?” John 11:25-26 NIV We celebrate the life and homegoing of Lorenzo Brower, Jr. “BooBoo”, who was born to the union of Lorenzo and Mae Eunice Brower on May 5, 1947 in Apopka, Florida. He attended Phyllis Wheatley Elementary School in Apopka, Florida and attended Hungerford High School in Eatonville, Florida. For a period of time he lived in Atlanta, Georgia. The foundation of his skillset was based in horticulture, cultivating cacti (earning him the name “Desert Dan”), and house plants, among other produce crops. He provided the sale and charity of bountiful produce to many. He was fondly known to some as the “Watermelon Man” as he sold truckloads of watermelons. Lorenzo lived by the sweat of his brow. The Lord kept count of all his tossings; put his tears in His bottle and recorded all of his tossings in His book. (Psalm 56:8) As a teen Lorenzo would sell peanuts that were parched by his mother. And he was good at it! Thus, the start of his entrepreneurial endeavors. He loved his family and he loved the Lord; knew God’s Word and what pleased Him. Although his soul here on earth was tossed in torrent, we pray it has now capsized in the sea that knows no storm. At rest in Jesus’ bosom. Lorenzo is preceded in death by his parents, Lorenzo Brower, Sr. and Mae Eunice Harris Sinclair Brower; sisters, Patricia Ann Brower, and Gertrude Louise Sinclair Holmes Fenn; nephew, Wilburn Elmer Holmes, Jr., brother-in-law Charlie Taylor, Jr., and all of his aunts and uncles. Lorenzo leaves to this earthly life, his sister: Sandra Dolyn Taylor of Orlando, Florida; nieces and nephews, Eunice Elizabeth Robinson of Apopka, Florida, Velinda Diane Robinson (Danny) of Staunton, Virginia, Cathy Loretta Holmes of Apopka, Florida, Jeremiah Holmes (Irma) of Apopka, Florida; Charlie Taylor, III, Charles Taylor, and Charlene Eunice Taylor, all of Apopka, Florida; and a host of grandnieces and grandnephews, cousins, other relatives and sorrowing friends.
