Lloyd Summerall

March 24, 1946 - May 7, 2022

Lloyd Summerall was born on March 24, 1946 in Tavares, Florida to parents, Harold C. Summerall and Mattie Mae Nixon Summerall. He attended schools in Tavares and Eustis, Florida. As a small child he was given the nickname, “Dinky”. In later years, he was given the nickname, “Simmi”, by his friends. He in turn gave his family members nicknames. At one time, he was a member of St. John Independent Free Methodist Church in Tavares, Florida. At an early age, Lloyd became fascinated with big trucks. He spent the majority of his life driving tractor trailers from state to state, which he thoroughly enjoyed. Early in adult life, he was married to Mary Lee Peterson Summerall and later in life to Regina Hamilton Summerall. Lloyd was a very loving son, husband, dad, grand-dad, brother, uncle, and friend. No matter where his travels took him, he would call every few days to ask if everyone was alright, and if they needed anything. He was always willing and ready to assist anyone, including strangers. He is and always will be sorely missed. Lloyd was preceded in death by his father, Harold C. Summerall; mother, Mattie Mae Nixon Summerall; brother, Harold C. Summerall, Jr.; and sisters: Lanora Lamb, Betty Jo Taylor, Diane Summerall Williams, and Naomi Daxton Summerall. Left to cherish his memories: A Loving and Devoted Wife, Regina Summerall of Eustis, Florida; Sons: Alonzo “Zoe” Summerall (Tasha) of Eustis, Florida, Lloyd Summerall, Jr. (Miriam) of Tavares, Florida, Maurice Summerall (Lorontia) of Zephyrhills, Florida, Hayward Summerall of Lake Alfred, Florida, Charles “Chuck” Lane of Tavares, Florida, Tyrone Summerall (Lisa) of Lake Alfred, Florida and Teddy Summerall of Lake Alfred, Florida; Daughter, Marla Trent of Ft. Myers, Florida; Brother: Oscar Summerall of Eustis, Florida; Sisters: Elaine Summerall Howard (Wally) of Tavares, Florida and Marjorie Summerall Avant (Isaac) of Eustis, Florida; Special People in his life: Zelma Carter Clark, Kevin Burnett, Jr., Ervin Burnett, and Britteny Burnett; 37 Grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving relatives and friends.
