    John Wesley Toney

    March 26, 1955 - February 13, 2022

    John Wesley Toney was born March 26, 1955 in Troy, Alabama to parents, Dennie Toney and Mary Emma Tarlbert. He attended Union Hill Elementary in Troy, Alabama and later attended Oak Ridge High School in Orlando, Florida. John accepted the Lord at a very young age and joined Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist church in Troy, Alabama. He later attended Valencia Community College, where he studied Hotel and Business Management. While there, he was also a member of the A2CS Gospel Choir. John began his career in the Hospitality Industry. He worked at several Orlando area hotels which included the Radison, and Four Points by Sheraton. He then became employed by the City of Orlando until his retirement in 2017. John joined True Vision In Christ, CLG, where he was a member of the Men of Vision Choir and served as an usher. John loved the Lord, his children and his family. He was a fun-loving person with a lot of humor and a beautiful smile. His favorite pastimes were playing tennis, a walk in the park with his wife, and watching Steve Harvey on the Family Feud. He also loved watching and attending football games and listening to music. John was preceded in death by his father, Dennie Toney; mother, Mary Emma Tarlbert; brothers: Johnnie J. Dubois and L.K. Walker; and sister, Annie L. Parker. He leaves to cherish his precious memory, his Loving and Devoted Wife, Bobbie Hudson Toney of Orlando, Florida; Son: John Darion Toney of Orlando, Florida; Daughters: Juwan Toney Williams of Tallahassee, Florida and Kayla M. Toney of Tampa, Florida; Brothers: Climmie Tarlbert and George F. Carlise (Betty), both of Orlando, Florida, Kune Toney and Robert Toney, both of Troy, Alabama; Sisters: Catherine Griffin and Annie M. Parker, both of Orlando, Florida; Grandchildren: Jerome Toro and Royal Solomon, both of Tampa, Florida, Tyriek Murphy and Cordesah Williams, both of Tallahassee, Florida; 2 Great Grandchildren; Mother-in-law, Carrie L. Hudson; Sisters-in-law: Hellen Sanders (Curtis), Dr. Matricia Sanders, Janice Scott (James), and Bishop Carolyn H. Glenn (William); aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
