Geneva Little Thomas was born July 11, 1937 in Leary, Georgia to parents, Reverend Henry Paul Little and Mattie Viola Hodge Little. She graduated from Hungerford High School in Eatonville, Florida. In her earlier years while residing in Tampa, Florida, she earned her Cosmetology License at Sunlight Beauty School of Cosmetology of Tampa, Florida. Shortly after receiving her license, she began her career. Throughout the years she held a variety of positions in the Central Florida area. Mrs. Geneva Little Thomas was an intelligent, loving, kind and giving individual. She was a friend, sister, sister-in-law, mother-in-law, wonderful mother and grandmother. Geneva was quiet, reserved and the epitome of a woman with a gentle spirit, who was soft spoken and with much wisdom. She resided in Apopka, Florida for fifty years and later moved to Orlando, Florida. She was a natural artist who enjoyed painting in her past time, because of her natural ability she later sought private lessons to further her knowledge and artistic ability. Her lessons included Chalk, Acrylic, Watercolor and Pastel painting, which she mastered for numerous years. Prior to being admitted into the hospital and nursing home, she enjoyed past time activities with her friends at Tabernacle Baptist Church and School under the church program, “Super Seniors,” prompting her to attend functions. Her newly developing “social life” motivated her to purchase her first mink stole. Geneva was an avid reader and student of the bible. She expanded her knowledge by attending various seminars. She attended Apopka Highland Seventh-Day Adventist Church of Apopka, Florida. Little did the community know there was more than one well known Little that could sing in their family, Geneva had a beautiful Soprano voice, which she would showcase around the home. One of Geneva’s life’s joy came from the birth of her grandchildren, which changed her life forever. Her grandchildren gave her even more purpose to be the best human being she could possibly be. Geneva was preceded in death by her father, Reverend Henry Paul Little; mother, Mattie Viola Hodge Little; and brothers: William Little and Henry L. Little. Left to cherish her memory are children: Dexter Vernon Thomas, Sr., Veronica Thomas and Alesia Richmond (Leslie), all of Orlando, Florida; siblings: Ada Little McBride of Clermont, Florida and Annette Little of Rockville, Maryland; sister-in-law, Rosa Little of Orlando, Florida; 5 grandchildren: Shiquita Edwards, Dexter Vernon Thomas, Jr., and Steven Williams, all of Orlando, Florida, Octavia Thomas of Atlanta, Georgia and Blake Thomas of Christmas, Florida; 2 great grandchildren: Michaiah Thomas and Mariah Thomas, both of Christmas, Florida; and a host of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and friends.
