    Fredia Annette Benton

    January 3, 1962 - June 8, 2022

Fredia Annette Benton, aka "Fluff" and "Fluffy" was born January 3, 1962, to the Late Mr. Robert Earl and Mrs. Ethel Bell Maryland Benton in Eustis, Florida. Fredia was the oldest of three siblings born to this union, with a younger brother and sister. Fredia was educated in the Lake County, Florida school system and was a graduate of Lake County Vocational School. Fredia was baptized at an early age in Zion Hope Baptist Church, Leesburg, Florida, and she absolutely loved to read, whether it be a book, magazine, or newspaper. Fredia would read every day, and would even write poetry! She also loved wordbooks and crossword puzzles, not to exclude "a soda" and peppermint candy! Deemed the "Best Babysitter" ever, Fredia was a second mom to many, and raised a lot of kids that were not her own! It may surprise you that this motivated Fredia to obtain her Certifications and Licenses for a Certified Day Care Operator. This nurturing further initiated her occupations as a Certified Nurse's Assistant (CNA) and Rehab Technician, which encompassed Fredia's employment at both Leesburg Regional Medical Center (LRMC) and Avante at Leesburg. A great cook can also be added to Fredia's resume, along with her demands to be waited on "hand and foot". Her favorite colors were gray and black, and Fredia also loved music, shopping and travel, and Publix was one of her favorites! She also had a love for jewelry, especially estate jewelry. As Fredia's extensive medical conditions caused a little slow to her role, she transitioned peacefully to God's Garden on June 8, 2022, hand in hand with her attentive, devoted and loving Son, Stephen "Bubba" Benton. With her parents preceding her to God's Garden, Fredia leaves cherished life memories to her attentive, caring, devoted, and loving Son, Stephen Antonio Nelson "Bubba" Benton, a Grandson, Deshawn Antonio Keon Benton, a Great Grandson, Elias Antonio Arean Benton, Leesburg, Florida; an attentive, devoted and loving Brother, Robert L. Benton (Virginia), Orlando, Florida; and another loving Brother Isiah Hicks, Florida; a loving Sister, Frances A. Benton, Leesburg, Florida; and one remaining Aunt, Carolyn Basley, Fort Myers, Florida; a loving Niece, Brittany Owens (Willis), Fruitland Park, Florida; and loving Nephews, Robert Edwin Benton, Orlando, Florida, Byron X.R. Lynum, Bryant X. Benton, and Blake X. Maryland; and, Great Nephew, Nigal A. Harris, Leesburg, Florida; Fredia was also a sister to cousins Joyce Parker and Richard "Ric" Hill. Cherished memories are also left to a very attentive, devoted and special Daughter in love, Verncina Hutto, and a host of other nephews, nieces, great nephews, great nieces, special cousins, and caring friends.
