Dexter Bridges was born in Gary, Indiana to Mary Charlotte Bridges on July 28, 1960. Dexter attended Phyllis Wheatley Elementary School in Apopka, Florida until he moved to Brooklyn, New York in 1973. In Brooklyn he attended Lefferts Middle School and graduated from Archway School, Brooklyn, New York. After graduating from High School Dexter became very active in the community in Brooklyn. Dexter took great pride in helping the elderly, sick and disabled tenants who lived in his apartment complex by running errands, shopping and carrying their groceries. He took care of the needs of several tenants in his building and the surrounding neighborhoods. Dexter loved to travel to Atlantic City, New Jersey to play the Casino slots. He definitely embraced and became a Real New Yorker. Dexter was a huge baseball fan and loved to watch the New York Yankees and Mets whenever they were playing. His other favorite teams were the New York Knicks, Boston Celtics and the New England Patriots. In May 2004, Dexter moved back to Apopka, Florida after his mother retired from the City of New York. Dexter enjoyed his family gatherings and always made sure that he provided his famous sweet, iced cold Kool-Aid for every gathering. He made the best Tropical Punch Kool-Aid. Although Dexter never had any children of his own, he loved his nieces and nephews and always made sure they had anything that they wanted. Dexter knew God and loved God which was very evident to everyone because he carried his big Bible around. Dexter was proceeded in death by his loving, dedicated, devoted, caring mother, Mary Charlotte Bridges, brother, Bruce Bridges and grandparents, John H. Bridges, Mary P. Bridges and Rosa Lee Jones. DEXTER leaves to cherish his memory: father, Rowmiles Jones of Massachusetts; sisters: Veronica Willis of Atlanta, Georgia and Sandra Brooks (Byron) of Orlando, Florida; brothers: Willie Flowers Jr. (Anita), Spencer Bridges (Sara) all of Orlando, Florida, Vincent Taylor of Apopka, Florida; sister-in-law: Olivia Bridges of Orlando, Florida; aunt: Josephine Smith (Ed) of Apopka, Florida; uncles: Nathaniel Bridges of Brooklyn, New York, Arnell Bridges (Bernice) of Orlando, Florida; nieces: Sheria Willis, Jerrica Willis both of Atlanta, Georgia, Imani Brooks of Orlando Florida, Lashonda Rosa (Victor) of Orlando, Florida, Jasmine Bridges of San Diego, California and Jasmyne Wolfe of Tampa, Florida; nephews: Dante Flowers (Carmen) of St. Louis, Missouri, Jared Brooks of Ft.
