Barbara always had a love for cooking and shortly after graduating from Jenkins County High School in Jenkins County, Georgia she relocated to Orlando, Florida in the late 1960’s and obtained employment at Jordan Marsh. Eventually, she secured a job at Court Café to do what she loved. Her passion for cooking led her to hold many positions in local restaurants where she enjoyed preparing meals and feeding people in her community. Barbara also worked at Lakeview Court and Women’s Residential Counseling Center (WRCC) where she took pleasure in cooking and providing love and support to women in need. Barbara received Christ in her life and loved the Lord. Barbara was a very active and dedicated member of the County Wide Charity Club of Central Florida for over 20 years. As a member, she helped feed the hungry, visited the elderly in nursing homes and organized charity events to raise money for families and individuals experiencing financial hardship. Barbara also enjoyed traveling to gospel concerts with her friends and relished in sharing her love for the Lord with her family. Some of her favorite gospel groups included Willie Neal and the Gospel Keynotes, Slim and the Supreme Angels and Honey Walker and the Goldenaires. Barbara loved her family and would go above and beyond to make sure they were happy. She especially loved her grandchildren and cherished the many weekends they stayed overnight with her. Those weekends were always filled with lots of fun, laughter and of course food. Her fried chicken and French fries were one of her grandchildren’s favorite meals and all agreed she made the best fried chicken. Barbara lived a blessed and beautiful life. She had a loving and caring nature. She was a wonderful mother, a good friend, an amazing grandmother, great grandmother and she will be dearly missed. Barbara was preceded in death by her mother, Daisy Bell Moore; father, Harry Williams; stepfather, Ned Moore; brother, Al Cooper and son-in-law, Louis Peterson, II. The Lord in His infinite wisdom deemed it timely to call our beloved Barbara to her eternal home in glory on February 23, 2021. Her departure is a deep and personal lost to her family and many friends and she will be greatly missed by them all. Barbara is survived by her five daughters: Lesia Ann Huxley, Doretha Peterson, Sucandra Williams (Michael, Sr.), Turkessia Miller and Valeria Smith (Gerrick); grandchildren: Kurt Lee, Sadonna Jackson, Brianna Huxley, Louis Peterson III, Kiara Peterson, Tiara Peterson, Dayshaun Peterson, Michael Williams, Jr., Mikayla Williams, Nia Smith, Jerrick Smith, Nahla Smith and Nariah Smith; three great grandchildren: Braylon Jackson, Carter Grandison and Cobe Grandison; two sisters: Eddie Ruth Jackson, and Sandra Ings; one brother: Earl Cooper (Gloria); a host of aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
