Winifred Williams

To every thing there Is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: ~Ecclesiastes 3:1~ A Time to Be Born On October 22, 1932, Winifred Williams was born in Jacksonville, Florida to parents, Bailey Williams and Rosa Seldon. A Time to Live Winifred attended public school in Jacksonville, Florida, before migrating to Miami, Florida to live with her mother Rosa Seldon and stepfather John L. Seldon. Winifred was a member of the Eastern Star Opa Locka chapter, where she served for many years. Winifred attended Miami Dade College, where she obtained her technical degree in Medical Services and then going on to work for many years at the Veterans hospital in Miami, Florida as an EKG technician manager until the day she retired. Winifred was an active attendee of Mt. Hermon AME Church for many years. After retirement, Winifred decided that Orlando is where she would reside and joined St. Mark AME Church under the leadership of Bishop Samuel Green. A Time to Die Winifred became ill, and through her sickness, she never complained and continued praising and thanking God. Winifred was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, aunt, mentor, provider and friend. Her smile was as radiant as an Easter Sunrise; her personality was infectious and magnetic. Her devotion and stewardship to any cause were unquestionable, her love had no boundaries, she was jovial in nature and loved by all who knew her. Winifred was preceded in death by her parents: Bailey Williams and Rosa Seldon; step-father, John L. Seldon; son, Johnny Williams; daughter, Debra Williams-Johnson; brothers: Dennis Williams and Ronnie Williams; and sisters: Zeliah Phillips and Marion Brinson. Left to cherish her precious memories and lovely legacy are her grandchildren: Tamon Stanley, Sr. (Rhonda), Minikki Johnson, Kimberly Johnson (Jairo), Shunta Thompson (Phil), Merisa Johnson (Kevin), Cherence Johnson (Kimberly); niece, Crystal Malcolm (Kirk), nephew, Jarvis Phillips (Sonja); 14 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; special relative and friend, Bloneva Smith; and a host of family and friends from Belle Glade, Jacksonville and Miami, Florida.
