Mrs. Willie Mae Peeples Tucker

Willie Mae Peeples Tucker was the second child of seven children born to Clarence and Idella Peeples. She was born March 14, 1951 in Leesburg, Florida. She was educated in the schools of Waynesboro, Pennsylvania as her father and family migrated from Florida to Pennsylvania seasonally. She is a graduate of the 1971 Class of Leesburg High School, located in Lake County, Florida. The first class of racial integration in Leesburg. At an early age, Willie Mae accepted Christ and was baptized at Mt. Pleasant African Methodist Episcopal Church in Fruitland Park, Florida. She honestly loved her church, her Pastor, the Reverend Omega Collier and more than anything, she loved Jesus. She remain active in her church until she was called from the church militant to the church triumphant serving over the years in the capacity of Steward, Stewardess and Trustee. Her life vocation was in Retail Management. She was employed in positions of Department Manager and Store Manager in Lerners of New York and Beall’s Department Store. Willie Mae loved people. Her family lovingly called her the “Great Communicator.” Upon the death of her father she took on the position of calling and checking in on her family on a weekly and for some on a daily basis. She loved helping others with a smile. In addition she loved fishing, cooking, baking and taking care of her family and friends. She was joined in marriage on September 7, 1971 to Charles Tillman Tucker, Jr. To this union three children was born, Charles Derald, Dena Shishonee and Dana Shishone Tucker. Nothing in life took precedent over the love and admiration she had for her husband and children. They were truly the “Apple of her eye and the beat of her heart.” Willie Mae had a major impact in the raising of her brother Carl Peeples, when her mother transitioned from earth to glory when Carl was only 12 years old. She was not only his sister but his other mother. When her eldest nephew Quentin Peeples was born she took him on not only as her nephew but also as her son. Willie Mae was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Idella Peeples, daughter, Dana Shishone Tucker. The Lord called Willie Mae from this life to glory on Wednesday, January 10, 2018. Her departure is a deep and personal loss to her family and friends and she will be greatly missed by them all. She leaves to celebrate her life and cherish her memories: Her loving husband, Charles Tillman Tucker, Jr.; One daughter, Dena Shishonee Tucker of Eustis, Florida; One Son, Charles Derald Tucker (Kryshondra) of Eustis, Florida; Four grandchildren, LaPhelia Williams, Santwuandra Rowe, Belton Rowe, Jr. and Ta’Day Dixon all of Eustis, Florida; One great-grand son, Ja`Mir D. Gelin; Three Sisters: Gale E. Brown (Andrew), of Leesburg, Florida; Vivian D. Banks (Walter) of Goose creek, SC; Rev. Carolyn P. Farrior, of Palm Bay, Florida; Seven Brothers: Clarence Peeples, Jr. (Diane); Charles E. Peeples (Julia) both of Leesburg, Florida; Carl L. Peeples (Norma) of Kissimmee, Florida; Cybryan Peeples of Wildwood, Florida; Clifton Peeples (Aerial) and Cemory Peeples both of Orlando, Florida; Craig Brown of Leesburg, Florida: a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many sorrowing friends.
