Mrs. Willie Mae Clark Christian

Willie Mae (Clark) Christian was born on July 31, 1932 to Bertha Lee Clark and Thomas Jefferson in Lumpkin, Georgia. She joined Philadelphia Baptist Church at an early age. In the 1950’s, she moved to Orlando, Florida where she met and married Willie H. Christian, Sr. in 1958. To this union three children were born. Willie H. Christian, Jr., Jacquelyn D. Daly, and Michael L. Christian. Willie Mae began working with the Orange County Public School System in Food Service. She retired after twenty-seven years of service to Phillis Wheatley Elementary School and Piedmont Lakes Middle School. Her joys were flowers, cooking and family. Many a day she could be found in either her garden or her kitchen. She was a straight talker, shooting straight from the hip-always with a story to tell and laughter to follow. Willie Mae was a faithful member of Freedom Ministries Church. Although she became ill in 2005, she continued to served the Lord. A soldier until the end, she fought the battle with cancer for 10 years. She serves as an example of what it means to be a strong woman, trusting in the faithfulness of God. On Monday, April 20th, 2015 at 9:00 am God dispatched His angel to call Mother Willie Mae Christian from labor to reward. She was proceeded in death by her husband, Willie Christian Sr., daughter, Willie Lou Clark, mother, Bertha Lee Clark; father, Thomas Jefferson, brother, J.C. Clark Sr.; grandmother, Sammie Lee Clark. She leaves to cherish her wonderful life and memory: Two sons Willie Christian, Jr. (Oleeta) of Winter Garden, Florida, Michael Christian of Apopka, Florida; One daughter, Jacquelyn D. Daly of Apopka, Florida; One brother, Jessie Clark (Fayre) of Lumpkin, Georgia; Six sisters, Daisy Mae Rispress (William) of Lumpkin, Georgia, Ludie Flowers of Lumpkin, Georgia, Mary Hardwick- Stays of Decatur, Georgia, Lucille Hardwick-Walton of Decatur, Georgia, Bernice Hardwick of Decatur, Georgia and Doris Hardwick-Johnson (Norman) of Oklahoma: Aunts, Mildred Amos of Decatur, Georgia, Annie Gatewood of Lumpkin, Georgia, Fannie McBride of Lumpkin, Georgia; Grandchildren, James Beauford of Lumpkin, Georgia, Regina Clark-Williams of Richland, Georgia, Vakesia Daly of Apopka, Florida, Voncara Daly of Baltimore, Maryland, Joycelyn Christian of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Kimberly Christian of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Six great grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.
