Mr. William Davis "Bill" White

William Davis White “Bill” was born February 17, 1944 in Colquitt, Georgia to Bell H. White and Tom White. He graduated from Charles R. Drew High School in Winter Garden, Florida. He furthered his education in horticultural sciences at Valencia Community College in Orlando, Florida and Florida A & M University in Tallahassee, Florida. He obtained numerous certificates as a nurseryman in irrigation applications, and hydroponics. He accepted the call to serve his country and fight for the freedom of a great nation. He served in the United States Army and fought valiantly in the Vietnam War. After serving in the war he found a passion for horticulture and land services. He saw where he could create wonder and merriment with plants and grasses at the most renown family attraction in the world, Walt Disney World. For thirty-seven years he gave valuable service and instruction to his team and peers at Walt Disney World. He rejoiced and felt it a blessing to spread the grace of God’s love to his family, friends and colleagues. He advocated for human rights and the betterment of his community. He was a very well-spoken man who loved to talk about politics and world views. Often times, he would jaunt off to his favorite restaurant, Cracker Barrel, for a bite to eat or to catch up with family and friends. Bill was the White’s family rock and was a steady shoulder and leader. The Lord in His infinite wisdom deemed it timely to call our beloved to his eternal resting place on Saturday March 4, 2017. His departure is a deep and personal loss to his family and many friends and he will be greatly missed by them all. He was preceded in death by his father, Tom White, mother, Bell H. White, son, Darren Tention, sister, Evelean Rowell, brothers, Willie White, Collie White and Lee Andrew White. He leaves to cherish precious memories to: son, Brandon T. Tention of Orlando, Florida; daughter, Altoria L. Pope of Winter Garden, Florida; sister, Alma Jean Gibson of Orlando, Florida; brothers, Thomas White of Orlando, Florida, L. J. White (Carolyn) of Tildenville, Florida, Joel White of Orlando, Florida, Charles White of Orlando, Florida and Lorenzo White (Tracey) of Orlando, Florida; grandchildren, Brandon Tention, Jr., T’Nia Tention, Myeisa Tention, all of Orlando, Florida, Chance Pope-Pate and Chase-Cion Pope-Pate all of Winter Garden, Florida; great granddaughter, Amara Akari Tooley of Orlando, Florida; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and sorrowing friends.
