Wilbert "Buck" Chisholm

Mr. Wilbert Chisholm, Sr., affectionately known “Buck”, was the ninth child born to Reverend Morris L. Chisholm, Sr. and Mrs. Lula B. Chisholm on December 22, 1929, in Apopka, Florida. He was educated in the public schools of Orange County. Wilbert accepted Christ at an early age. He was a member of St. Paul AME Church, Apopka, Florida. Mr. Chisholm graduated from the historic Jones High School in Orlando, Florida. After high school he joined the United States Army, where he served with dignity and honor. He later received an Honorable Discharge from the United States Army. Upon completion of his tour in the Army, he returned home to Apopka and began a career in horticulture working for the B.P. Nelson Nursery. He was very knowledgable about flowers and their care, especially roses. Wilbert retired from the B.P. Nelson after forty-five years of service. He enjoyed his time with flowers and working with both the Land and Nelson Families. Wilbert was a loving, caring and selfless person to his family. He would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. He helped to raise his first nephew, Carey L. Chisholm (Tue Tue) and his first niece, Johnnie M. Chisholm (C. Joe). Wilbert entered into eternal rest on Sunday, June 6, 2021. Wilbert was preceded death by his Parents: Reverend Morris L. Chisholm, Sr. and Lula B. Chisholm; Children: Annie Sabrina Bradford; Johnny Toney, and David Toney; Grandchildren: Sylvester Richmond, Willie Perry and Veronica Spears; Brothers: Marion Chisholm, Morris Chisholm, Allen Chisholm and Alexander Chisholm; Sisters: Tempie Chisholm, Rachel Welch, Margaret King and Anna Lue Bradford.
