Gross. Waymond attended and graduated from Oxon Hill High School. He enlisted in United States Army in 1987 and served until 1991. After his military service, he continued his career with the U.S. Postal Service. After retiring, he moved to Florida in 2013, where he met his wife, Elizabeth. Waymond, lovingly known as “Pig”, had many passions, most importantly was his love of family. A very close second was his love for dessert, especially cheesecake. In fact, dessert was normally his main course. He was a great cook and was meticulous with his recipes, making sure everything was made just right. At an early age, growing up in the DC area, Waymond showed a great interest in music. That interest would motivate him to create and write music, as a way of expressing his experiences and the experiences of those around him. He loved the sounds of DC GOGO music and would listen to it every chance he got. He loved his sports, as the Washington Commanders, Miami Heat and NASCAR were his favorites. But greater than all of this, he loved God. He wasn’t flashy or loud in his words or deeds. He had a sweet and calming spirit, that was electrified through his beautiful smile and the love he shared with each of us. He has left a lasting impression of what love should be, what it can do and how it should feel. Waymond was preceded in death by his father, Waymond Rice, Jr. He leaves to treasure his memories, his Wife, Elizabeth Rice of Kissimmee, Florida; Mother, Ethel M. Gross of Hickory, North Carolina; Daughters: Tyfany Williams and Tyraiya Williams, both of Temple Hills, Maryland; Step- daughters: Alexis Graham of Atlanta, Georgia and Alexandria Wade of Kissimmee, Florida; Brother, Michael A. Gross (Sherita) of Hickory, North Carolina; Grandsons: Ty’Jai Williams and Tyson Erazo of Temple Hills, Maryland, his dear friend, Morgan Rich and a host of aunts, uncles, nephews, cousins and friends.
