Wade W. H. Grady

Wade William Hayden Grady transitioned from this life peacefully on January 11, 2019 at the age of 89. He was born on November 13, 1929 in Murphy, NC to Jesse and Elva Grady. Wade joined the US Army in April 1946 as an automotive mechanic and was assigned to the 542nd Signal Heavy Construction Company. Soon after joining he boarded the USS Altman headed toward the Pacific, stopping in Manila, Okinawa Japan, and other Pacific Countries. He served his country honorably in the Pacific Conflict during World War II and was awarded the World War II Victory Medal. Wade was a maintenance technician for Big C Liquor Company for many years providing building maintenance services for the stores in the area before they closed down permanently. Wade was an active member and faithful Sunday school attendee at St. John Independent Free Methodist Church of Tavares, Florida. He leaves to cherish precious memories his devoted wife of 43 years, Mary Grady. He was preceded in death by his parents: Jesse and Elva Grady; 7 brothers and 2 sisters, 2 Sister-in-law, Johnnie Mae Grady and Lizzie Grady. He will be sadly missed by his wife and Children: Brenda Mitchell (Willie), Yolanda Wright (James), Jesse Wade, and Thelma; Grandchildren, Tunica Mitchell, Willie Mitchell, Jr., Tatyana Grady, Dontavious Anderson, Jr., and Autumn Rain Lesky; Great Grand-Children, Tyshon Mitchell-Williams and Syriah Williams; Nephews, Anthony and Thomas Grady; Nieces, Martha Ann Lucas-Grady, Ruby Ware (Johnny), Shirley Dailey (Harold), Jackie Barrette-Collins, Mary Barrette-Waller, Marva Henderson, Lynette Grady, Yerda Grady, Lashanda Grady; Godchildren, Terrance Lane, Kristie Alston (Donald), Mercie Allen, Zackary Vaughn, and Anthony Walters, Jr. along with a host of other nieces, nephews, family and friends. A Homegoing Service will be held Saturday, January 19, 2019 at 2:30 pm at St. John Independent Free Methodist Church in Tavares, Florida. Pastor Lillie Ann Brown will be officiating. All are welcome for viewing and visitation from 1:00 p.m. to 2:15 pm on Saturday. His interment will be at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida on 01/22/2019 at 11:30 pm.
