Mrs. Vidonia McRae Scott

Vidonia "Vi" Scott was born on November 9, 1946, in McRae, Georgia to Lovett and Alice McRae. She was twelfth of fourteen children born in the union. On March 3, 2018, at 6am the Lord called our beloved Vi to her eternal resting place; her departure is a profound and personal loss to her family, friends, and all the lives she touched over the years. Vi graduated from Telfair High School in McRae, Georgia Class of 1964 and later attended Orange Technical College in Winter Park, Florida, where she studied medical assistant and business administration. She worked in the retail industry for over thirty-five years. Vi retired in 2002, to care for her husband until his passing in 2003. In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking, spending time with family & friends, and philanthropy efforts. She’ll be remembered not only for the strength and conviction of her words but also for the inspiration and wisdom she offered. Vi’s passion in life can be summed up by three words; Faith, Family, and Friends. Her Faith In her early childhood, she attended Corinth M.E. Church, under the leadership of her father (Reverend Lovett McRae). After marriage, she joined the Church of God by Faith in Winter Park, Florida and was currently a faithful member of Saint Mark African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Church in Orlando, Florida. In her time served, she hosted the Women’s Day Annual Dinner and chaired the Thanksgiving Food Drive Annual Community Service event. Of all her achievements, the most impressive was her own character and her faith in God. Her Family On June 20, 1976 she married the love of her life, Henry Scott. She was not only a virtuous wife, an awesome mother but was an amazing grandmother and great-grandmother. Her grandkids and great-grandkids most memorable moments were the sleep overs at her house and “pallets”. She made many blankets and sheets so all of them could sleep together as a family. She was the “glue” that held the family together. Vi was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Scott; her parents, Lovett and Alice McRae; her grandson Terrell M. Wilson; and eleven siblings. She leaves to cherish precious memories: three daughters, Pamela R. Levi (Teddy), Paula R. Hopkins (Earnest), Pia R. Wilson; one son, Lester Wilson, Jr. (Mariesa); one sister, Louvenia Johnson; one brother, Lovett McRae, Jr. (Swayzine); two sisters-in-law, Geneva McRae, Betty Ann Smith; one brother-in-law Charles Clay; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; four godchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
