Valerie Smith Williams

Valerie Gwendolyn Smith Williams was born July 17, 1949, in Kissimmee, Florida, to parents James D. Smith, Sr., and Beatrice L. Pope Smith. She attended Kissimmee High School from 1st grade through 9th grade and graduated from Osceola High School in 1969. She furthered her education by attending Wayne State Community College in Detroit, Michigan. Valerie gave her life to Jesus Christ at an early age. She was a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of pastor James W. Neugin, Sr., and Pastor kemer Baker, Jr. She was in the youth choir, Choristers, and Shilor Mass Choir. She loved working with children and enjoye working as a Girl Scout leader. She was a devoted mother to Victoria and grandmother to Anestajia, as well as extending her love to countless children within her tamily and the commun-ity. Her generosity knew no bounds for those who were in need. Valerie was always a hard and dedicated worker. She worked as an educator with children at Warsaw Preschool, then became a full-time homemaker for several years. She latel made a career working at Eckerd/CVS warehouse as a merchandise receiver until she retired in 2020. In her spare time, her passion for crating, creating, floral arranging, and wedding designing brought her so much joy. valerie also loved shopping at her honorary "second job" JC Penny. She would frequently spend her time searching for deals and discounts so she could gift others with what they needed. Many would come to her for advice and guidance. She never knew a stranger; her friendly smile and personality were loved by many wherever she would go. On Thursday, June 18, 2026, the Lord in His infinite wisdom deemed it time to call our dearly beloved Valerie Williams home. Her departure is a deep and personal loss to her family and friends. She will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know her. Valerie was preceded in death by her loving parents, James and Beatrice Smith; two brothers, Terry L. Smith and james D. Smith, Jr.; six sisters, Doris Y. Phillips, Barbara Jean edwards, Bernice L. Jones, Gladys I. McGee, Evelyn L. Smith and Mildred C. Spencer. She leaves to cherish precious memories: her loving daughter, Victoria Williams (Kevin; granddaughter, Anestajia Williams. Two brothers, Elder Alvin L. Smith (Nesline) and Curtis L. Smith; three sisters, Betty J. Gould (William), Gail L. Smith, and Janice P. Williams (Reginald); god-children, Calvin Edwards, Sierra Echols, Laniyah, Tiayna, and Aaliyah Kendel; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and sorrowing friends.
