Theodis Cleveland McMiller, Jr.

Theodis Cleveland McMiller, Jr., was born in Orlando, Florida on July 5, 1960, to proud and loving parents Theodis McMiller, Sr. and Mary Alice McMiller. He was a lifelong resident of Apopka, Florida, where he attended the local schools, graduating from Apopka High School Class of 1978. Early in life, he met the love of his life, Dolores Gunn. These High School sweethearts have honored their Wedding Vows for 43 years, creating a beautiful family together. Growing up, he was an exceptional athlete participating in his High School basketball and football teams. After serving eight years in the United States Army, he received numerous awards and certifications. Helping the create career opportunities at Coco-Cola, Walt Disney World, City of Apopka, and Fiskcar, Inc. In his free time, he loved to fish, golf, and watch sports (a true Gators fan!). He was known as the family chef and a professional comedian. Definitely being the life of every event. His family and friends would agree his famous barbecue and jokes kept everyone smiling. He was a great father to his children, while filing in the gap for so many others in the community. Joining Orlando West Ministries, he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior. His love for God, led him to become an ordained Deacon. As a devoted member of OWM, he served with the Men's Ministry. Theodis meant something to everyone who knew him. He was truly a legend and will be missed dearly. Theodis is preceded in death by his son Theodis McMiller III, and mother, Mary Alice McMiller and father, Theodis McMiller, Sr. Theodis departed this life on September 4, 2023. He leave to cherish fond memories: a devoted wife of 43 years, Dolores McMiller, Apopka; two children, Theshedra McMiller Smith (Kylund), Apopka and Avantae McMiller (Yontavia) Apopka; grandchildren, Nikia Smith (DeAndre), Apopka; Ezekiel McMiller, Sanaiya McMiller, Skylar McMiller, and Ezra McMiller; siblings, Valerie McMiller-Hendrix (Leonard), New York, Deborah Britten (Aaron) Apopka, Joanne Patterson, Apopka, Latonja McMiller Rew (Anthony), Apopka, Stacey McMiller, Sr., Fitzgerald, Georiga, and Xavier McMiller, Atlanta, Georgia; sister-in-law, brother-in-law and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and many sorrowing friends.
