As a young man, Stanhope immigrated to the United States in the 1980’s in pursuit of the American dream. He dedicated many years of his life to working at Disney and Conoley Citrus, where he was known for his strong work ethic and unwavering commitment to excellence. After settling in Winter Haven, Florida, Stan married his first wife, Gwen with whom he had a daughter, Barakah. Years later, he moved to Winter Garden, Florida and found love once again with his second wife, Versie, with whom he had two sons, Stanhope, Jr. and Stanford. He also welcomed his daughters, Candita, Natyna, Yvonne, and Mildred from Jamaica to live with him, providing them with a loving and caring home as they established themselves in their new country. Stan was a pillar of strength and support for his family, always putting their needs above his own. He leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and resilience that will continue to inspire all who knew him. A Time to Rest “I fought a good fight and finished my course; I have kept the faith. Henceforth, a crown of righteousness is laid up for me, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all of them also that love is appearing. ~ 2 Timothy 4:7-8 Stan was preceded in death by his Father, King George; Mother, Violet Wiltshire; First Wife, Gwendalyn Simpson; and Second Wife, Versie Delight Smith. Left to cherish his precious memory and continue in his legacy: his Sons: Stanhope E. Simpson, Jr. of Winter Garden, Florida and Stanford Simpson of Orlando, Florida; Daughters: Barakah Simpson Smith (Lonnell) of Ocoee, Florida, Candita Simpson Ferguson (Garry) of London, United Kingdom, Mildred Simpson (Joye) of Oakland, Florida, Natyna Simpson Salmon (Ricky) of Orlando, Florida, and Yvonne Simpson of Winter Garden, Florida; Brothers: Easton Simpson, Noel Simpson, Weston Simpson, Carol Holiness, Charles Holiness, Dan Holiness, Ken Holiness, and Leonard Holiness; Sisters: Gloria Simpson and Joyce Simpson; 11 Grandchildren; 2 Great Grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and friends.
