Today, we come together as a family and a community to honor and celebrate the remarkable life of our beloved Silbert, affectionately known as Tony, Uncle Tony, Uncle TY, Zulu, Mr. Sil, Brother Brown, Brownie, and most tenderly, Daddy. While our hearts ache at the loss we feel with his passing on October 4, 2024, we are filled with immense gratitude for the profound love and joy he brought into our lives, cherishing the legacy he leaves behind and the values he instilled in us. Born on February 28, 1954, to Eric Brown and Hyacinth Brown (née Bryan), Silbert demonstrated a gift for numbers from a young age, leading to a fulfilling career in accounting in Jamaica. After moving to the United States, he continued to shine at Orlando Health Regional Hospital, where his strong work ethic, meticulous attention to detail, and pride in every task inspired all who worked alongside him. Silbert's dedication was unwavering, and he approached each day with a commitment that left a lasting impact. At the heart of Silbert’s life was his deep and abiding faith in Jehovah. As an elder in the Molynes congregation in Jamaica and later in the Ocoee congregation in the United States, Silbert had a profound influence on those around him. He poured his heart into shepherding others, providing guidance, support, and encouragement to fellow members. His words of wisdom, grounded in love and humility, inspired many to deepen their faith and walk closer with Jehovah. Whether it was giving a talk, mentoring younger members, or offering counsel during difficult moments, Silbert's spiritual leadership left a lasting mark. He will be fondly remembered as a pillar within his congregations, always willing to serve and uplift others with kindness and grace. Family was Silbert’s greatest treasure. He cherished the 43 years he spent with his beloved wife, Ella, finding joy in their shared journey through life. He took immense pride in raising his three wonderful children—Sakinah, Khianda, and Chad—instilling in them values that shaped their lives. His love extended to his siblings, including his brothers and sister who are still with us: Marlene, Raymond, Kirk, Howie, and Keeble. His bond with them was a cherished part of his life. Silbert’s love for his nieces and nephews will always remain a part of their hearts: Richard, Jamie, Sarnia, Jackie, Lloyd (aka Tommy), Madison, Krystal, Racquel, Phillip, Malik, Micheal, Davaughn, Akeela, Ladonya, Kenny, Britnie, Racquel, Orietha, Georgia, Janine, and Taliyah. His warmth extended beyond his immediate family, as he embraced his “surrogate children”— Krystal, Julio, Heather, Janelle, Lisa, Deon, Pia, Zoey, Maya, Andre, Olivia, Joel, Gabrielle to name a few—and all the young lives he touched along the way. Silbert’s impact went beyond words: he personally ensured that children in his care were safe, often going the extra mile to pick them up and take them home. His kindness provided these young lives with a sense of security and love, and his legacy will continue to inspire them for years to come. His son-in-law Damian and daughter-in-law Danielle were also welcomed into the family with love and respect, forming bonds that will endure. His grandchildren—Joshua, Jonathan, and Gabrielle—were a source of immense pride and joy. Silbert was committed to nurturing their spirits, ensuring they understood the importance of faith, love, and strong character. Silbert was not one for confrontation, he possessed a heart full of empathy and integrity. His faith in Jehovah inspired many to deepen their relationship with God, and his legacy of love will continue to guide us as we carry his memory forward. As we reflect on Silbert’s life, we find solace in the following scriptures: 2 Corinthians 1:3-4: "Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles." John 5:28-29: "Do not be amazed at this, for a time is coming when all who are in their graves will hear his voice and come out." Psalm 37:29: “The righteous will inherit the land and dwell in it forever." Isaiah 41:10: "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." Revelation 21:4: "He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away." As we remember Silbert today, let us embrace the warmth of his memory and the invaluable lessons he imparted. His legacy of hard work, dedication, and faith will forever reside in our hearts, assuring us of the joyful reunion that awaits us in the future. We are truly grateful for the love and support from each of you during this time. May the cherished memories of Silbert bring us comfort and strength as we navigate this journey together, honoring him in our hearts and actions.
