Sheila A. Wilson

Sheila Arlette Wilson was born on August 29, 1959 in Winter Garden, Florida to the proud parents of J.P. and Lena Wilson. She was the seventh of eight children. Sheila was raised in a home filled with love. By all accounts she was a “daddy’s girl.” Whatever Sheila wanted, Sheila GOT!! Sheila attended Orange County Public Schools. She was an avid reader and excelled on every level. Sheila was one of the first black cheerleaders at Ocoee High School. In 1977 she graduated from West Orange High School in Winter Garden, FL. Sheila worked at Oak Hill Elementary, as a third grade teacher’s aide for one year. She loved working with children but wanted to broaden her horizon. To everyone’s amazement, Sheila announced that she was joining the United States Army. Our first words were, “Sheila you will never make it, because “Da” is not going with you. Not only did she enlist, but she served her country with honor and pride for years. Sheila always maintained a very close relationship with family and friends. Her esteemed love, kind gestures and genuine heart were beyond measure. Because of her sweet and humble spirit she earned the title of “Aunt Sheila.” Her most honored title however was Mother. It was the world to her. She loved Delshun with the same admiration, devotion and unconditional love she received from her parents. He was the center of her joy. Their bond could not be broken, even in death. Sheila was a devoted and faithful member of West Orlando Christian Center COGIC (formerly) Bay Street COGIC). Her work in the vineyard started at an early age. She served untiringly and Unselfishly with her gifts and talents. When her health began to decline, she remained anchored in the Lord. Romans 8:28-35 was a summation of her life. We will miss her smile and love she shared with all who knew her. On Tuesday morning October 24, 2017, Sheila stepped across the threshold we call death. She is resting in the bosom of God. She was preceded in death by her parents : J.P. and Lena Wilson; siblings: Marion Yvonne, Robere’, Ellen Suzette and Kathy Denise. She leaves cherished memories with loving family members: Son: Delshun Wilson, McDonough, GA; Brothers: Arthur Sweptson, Orlando, FL; Reginald Sweeting (Jacqueline) and Issac Wilson, Great Aunt: Sally Lofton all of Winter Garden, FL; Brother in law: Ronald Taylor, Ocoee, FL; a host of saddened nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
