Mr. Saul Archer

Saul was born in Midville, Georgia to Spurgeon and Bertha Mae Archer on July 28, 1931. He attended school in Burke County and later joined the military. Saul moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida where he met Ida Mae Harris. They were not perfect parents but to their children, they were as close to perfect as they could be. Saul worked as a mechanical engineer for many years in the Bowling Industry. Saul moved his family to Eustis, Florida in the early 60’s where he continued to work and follow his passion in the Bowling Industry. Saul was a very talented person. He taught himself to play several musical instruments. Saul enjoyed entertaining family and friends by playing his instruments and singing the blues. Serving Jehovah and taking care of his family were the most important things to him. Saul truly enjoyed cooking his famous shut-eyed beef soup, burning popcorn, traveling, gardening and caring for the fruit trees he planted all over his yard. He even named the street he lived on Liberty Street. Saul appreciated spiritual things; he dedicated his life to Jehovah and was baptized August 15, 1964. He made sure to have a Bible study with his family every Saturday night. Saul passed away Tuesday, June 13, 2017 as a faithful servant of Jehovah. Saul was preceded in death by his dear wife, Ida in 2002, brother, David Archer, sister, Ida Mae Gilula. He leaves to cherish precious memories: seven sons and six daughters; Larry (Karlene) of Coral Springs, Florida, Eyvone (Willie) of Pompano Beach, Florida, Jerome (Vivian) of Lantana, Florida, Jeff (Joanne) of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Delores (John) of West Palm Beach, Florida, Denise (James) of Eustis Florida, Loretta of Riviera Beach, Florida, Edith (Tony) of West Palm Beach, Florida, Daniel of Eustis, Florida, Lorenzo (Tracy) of Umatilla Florida, Marvin (Marshall) of West Palm Beach, Florida, Christina (Arthur) of Jacksonville, Florida, and Wayne (Yvette) of West Palm Beach, Florida; thirty-one grandchildren: Monique, Austin (Tyra), Andre, Adrian, Bruce (Porsha), Samantha (Marvin), Willie, Wesley, Ida, Audley, Cody, Jasmine, Dominique, Charlayna (Que), Erika, Nina (Al), Timothy, Justin, Monique (Michael), Leah, Robert, Tyson, Miata (Derrick), Barrington, Blake, Amber, Autumn, Mariyah, Miles, Makayah, Micah; seventeen great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters: Lou Bertha Easler of Las Vegas, NV, Ruth Ann Jiles (Richard) of St. Mary, Georgia, Frank Archer of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Carl Archer (Mary) of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; sisters-in-Law: Betty Sneed (Sam) of Pompano Beach, Florida, Gloria Telfair of Pompano Beach, Florida, and Junellen Lanier of Dublin, Georgia; grieving also are a host of relatives, a large spiritual family, friends and neighbors.
