Ronald David Nettles

After living a life of service and providing support to those whom he believed needed it most. Ronald was called home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on May 16, 2019. Ronald’s devotion to his family and friends was born during his summers in Georgetown, South Carolina with his late grandfather, David Nettles (Lula Nettles – deceased) and his step-grandmother Pearline Nettles. Ronald developed a love of fishing and family through his grandparents and that love ultimately gives us the memories we need to ensure his legacy lives on. Ronald David Nettles was born April 25, 1975 in Georgetown, South Carolina to Pearl Nettles and the late Ronald Bradshaw. From an early age, Ronald challenged the status quo. Growing up in Rochester, New York, Ronald earned the moniker “Ron X.” Ronald inspired others and provided people with varying perspectives and philosophies on topics, as simple as, fast food, to topics, as complex as, the “School to Prison Pipeline.” Ronald was ahead of his time in many ways, but he was admired most for his heart. Ronald would have given his last to any of his friends or family if they expressed a need. Ronald loved helping others. For a large majority of his professional career, Ronald provided opportunities for those that could not find them elsewhere. As a Director of Admissions for Kaplan University, he helped individuals enroll in post-high school educational programs. He also coached and mentored employees to ensure that they could successfully assist those same prospective students. Ronald had many dreams and ideas, and being fearless, Ronald attempted every idea and opened every business he could to ensure that he was having an impact on his community. Ronald was a music producer with Power Moves, Incorporated and a business owner helping people file taxes amongst other things. Ronald leaves to cherish his wonderful memories: his mother, Pearl Nettles and step-father, Raymond Payne; two loving children, Ashley Nettles and Ronald Nettles, Jr.; several siblings, including: Gary (Tia), Jamila (Reginald), Christopher (Barbara), Sarah, Demeeka, Jamal (Nicole), Al; along with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, as well as, countless other friends and family whom were blessed to know him. Ronald touched the lives of many people with his smile and generosity and maintained his trademark sense of humor. The family understands that Ronald has developed a multitude of relationships and created new familial ties. We would like to make sure that everyone understands that it was impossible to list every name; however, that should not diminish the relationship or memories that you have had the privilege of sharing with Ronald.
