Mr. Robert Roosevelt Dunston, Sr.

Robert Roosevelt Dunston, Sr., was born September 7, 1942 to Josephine Dunston Hickey and Roosevelt Dunston. He was raised in Wilson, North Carolina until his family relocated to Apopka, Florida. Robert began his career in the plumbing industry, and later went on to work for a local bakery in North Carolina before becoming employed with Merita Bread Bakery in Orlando, Florida. He remained there until he retired from the company. After retiring from Merita Bakery, Robert became owner and operated his own business, Robert Dunston Lawn Service for many years. On June 5, 1993 Robert married the love of his life, Sandra Roberson and went on to have a beautiful life and family. He also went on to change his life and received the precious gift of the Holy Ghost on May 27, 2001. He was baptized in the name of Jesus and became a member of the Outreach Church of Jesus in Kissimmee, Florida, under the leadership of Bishop R. L. Randolph, Sr. Deacon Dunston was an active and faithful member of the church, he ministered to others and served as a Deacon until he was promoted to glory on July 7, 2015. Robert “Deacon Dunston” was lively, loving, curious, an energetic person, always greeted you with a warm smile. He was a faithful servant that loved the Lord with all his heart. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Roosevelt and Josephine, his sisters, Ethelene Pugh and Hattie Dingle, his brothers, Roy Dunston and Claude N. Hickey, two infant daughters and his beloved son, Rayford Dunston, grandson, James Tinsley, uncle, James Dingle. Robert leaves to cherish precious memories to; his beautiful wife, Sandra (affectionately known as Ma Sand); his nine children, Robert Dunston, Jr., Theola Tinsley (Jimmy), Lorraine Dunston, Roosevelt Dunston, Kenny Dunston, Mevonda Smith, Luther Smith, Jr., Cornelius Smith, Antonio Smith and one bonus son, Corey Guinn; godson, George Young; brothers, James Hickey (Ruth), Ervin Dunston (Delores); sisters, Katie Jones (Jimmie), Gloria Dorvilus, Mayetta Massey (John), Josie Long (Jacob); mother and father in-law, Helen and Roderick Penn, Bishop Henry L. Hall; grandfather-in-law; brothers-in-law, Freeman Roberson, Tanaris Roberson (Robina), Quantary Roberson (Talaya); sisters-in-law, Hannah Mae Brown, Arvada Parker, Jacqueline Samuel, Lorene Reddick (Zollie), Tegina Allen (Marshall); special nephew, Tony Jackson; a host of grandchildren; nieces; nephews; aunts; uncles; cousins other relatives and loving friends.
