Mrs. Rita H. Allen

Rita H. Allen was born on February 18, 1946 to Evelyn Hayward Manning and is granddaughter of Gussie Hayward Manning of Winter Park, Florida. Her early education was obtained in Deland, Florida and Robert Hungerford High School in Eatonville, Florida Class of 1964 and graduated from Seminole High School. She received a diploma of Practical Theology from International Seminary in 1991. Between 2002-2008 she received her Master of Pastoral Counseling and Doctorate Degree of Christian Psychology from Faith Bible College. She Married her husband, Cecil Allen December 22, 1963 to this union a daughter, Cecilia Allen was born May 11, 1965 and a son Reginald Allen was born March 4, 1966. She owned and was the Director of Little Saints Daycare in Eatonville, Florida. She also worked for the State of Florida as a Social Worker. Rita was Part Owner, VP and Financial Secretary for Allen Construction Company. She retired at age 62 and traveled and enjoyed life with her husband, her son, grandchildren, great-grand's and family. In her time served, she started the A.G.A.P.E. (African-American Girls Actively Pursuing Excellence) Young Girls Group and was active until her health began to fail. She was a member of the Ideal Woman’s Club in Winter Park, Florida, where she initiated and chaired the “I Know Something Good About You” Annual Fundraiser. In her early childhood she attended Mt. Moriah Baptist Church and after marriage she joined the Church of God By Faith in Winter Park, Florida and was currently a faithful member of Church of God By Faith in Sanford, Florida. On Saturday, January 13, 2018, the Lord deemed it timely to call our beloved Rita to her eternal resting place; her departure is a deep and personal loss to her family, friends and all the lives she touched over the years. She will be greatly missed and her legacy will live in all of us. Rita was preceded in death by her mother, Evelyn Hayward Manning , her daughter, Cecilia Allen and one stepson, David Morris, her grandmother, Gussie Manning, Mother-in-law, Wilhelmena Allen and Grandmother-in-law, Viola Hazel, Brothers-in-law: John Curtis Allen, Jr, Sydney Alfred Allen, Curtis Eugene Allen and William Frazier Allen. She leaves to cherish her loving memories to her, Husband, Cecil B. Allen; Son, Reginald Allen, Step Daughters: Denise Kenon and Bridgett Howard; Grandchildren: Brittany Allen, Stephanie Allen Grant, Reggie Allen, Jr. and Ashley Allen (Alahni). Three Greatgrands; Sisters-in-law: Donna Allen, Emilie Allen and Rose Allen; Brothers-in-law Bennie G. Allen, Edwin L. Allen (Cora), Carlton A. Allen (Izetta); Aunts: Earline M. Blue and Ernestine M. Ingram; Uncles: Ernest Manning (Ramona), Winston Grey, Lonnie Walker (Amanda), Jellont Walker, Henry Walker and Jimmy L. Howard; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, twenty godchildren, extended family and friends.
